Meanwhile, the Flames just beat the Canucks with the go-ahead goal at 59:30. Heartbreak city. But not for me, because fuck Vancouver.

To scoreheads credit, Kaner had some very unkaner like mishandles tonight. I'll chalk that up to some rust after several weeks off.

I agree, but nearly every NHL Head coach would give the #1 goalie the start in game 2. Having said that, I think Darling has more upside and is the better longterm solution and that the Blackhawks will try to move Crawford in the offseason.

I'd like that but it's gonna be kinda hard to move the guy.

Kaner did not suck. He had 2 assists and was fine.

Do you think he sucked because he didnt score a goal?

Wouldn't be THAT hard to move him. Teams still pay good money for goalies and Crawford is a proven goaltender with a Cup win who was having the best season of his career until he got hurt. There would be some takers.

Crawford will start. What Darling did tonight was incredible, but I don't think Q is going to hand a rookie with anxiety problems the starting job after a high-stress relief appearance like tonight. It'll be Crawford, and presumably with a more interested team in front of him so that we don't have to go through this shit again.

But he has a no-move clause. If he only wants to get drunk and fall down flights of stairs in the Chicago area, he has that right. The Isles could use him after the way Halak barfed up the division lead this year, though.

The assist on the second goal was amazing. Not over rated at all. It was classic.

For the record, the Captain has stepped it up huge over the last two, three weeks.

Yeah. That one was skill. I still think it was a net bad game for Kane.

I had no idea Crawford had a no move clause.

Well I guess one way to get him to waive that is to start Darling the rest of the playoffs.

I'll take playmaker Kane any day dude. If that's what he has to do to contribute while in recovery I'm all in.

I would be shocked if Cro didnt start game 2. Q usually sticks With the veterans. With regards to moving Cro in the offseason, there would be plenty of teams interested in Cory. I hope the Hawks can move him. Darling has more upside.

Playoffs are all about getting hot at the right time and playing the hot hand. I think you have to seriously consider Darling Friday.

For all of the talk that Hawks fans would take over the stadium, it had to be 95-5 Predator fans. I didn't see or hear the Hawks fans much.

Speak for yourself, I was there. One of the first dates with my wife. Booed Bill Wirtz during the entire tribute and moment of silence. Got kicked out by security in the 3rd period for calling the girl sitting behind me a bitch and missed the Kane shootout winner. The wife loved all of it, especially getting escorted out by security.

Q pulled zero punches. "I didn't like the first period, I didn't like the goals"

And he says he'll tell us tomorrow who goaltends friday. No vote of confidence for Crawford. If he was all in for Craw I think he says Crow is his #1, its Crow. Nothing like that at all.

I felt the opposite. I thought he would have come out with Corey is our Quarterback coackspeak if that's what he was intending to do.

Rozsival won't see the ice again.

Why would Q try to mind fuck Crawford? What's the point of that? If he knew he was gonna start him, he'd say it. No need to screw with his confidence if he is gonna stick with him.

So it's gonna be Darling!!!!!!

Unless I'm wrong. I don't know Hockey folk that well. Just my novice thought on the situation.

Absolutly. I think Darling is the better goalie, but I would be shocked if Q doesn't start Cro in game 2.

I don't think he's all in on Crawford. I think not naming the starter now is Q's way of saying he's on a short leash. I still think Crawford gets the next start.

I love me some Crawford... he won us a cup, but I hope you're wrong. We'll see.

Fun!

so goals are an overrated stat, too? Let me guess, you agree with Buddy Ryan that Chris Carter sucks cause all he does is catch touchdowns?us

Kane was fine for his first game back. Rusty for sure, some mishandles and a little tentative at times....all to be expected. And in the end, he got two assists including a beauty cross ice to Sharp. Coming back and playing after being hurt for 7 weeks is hard enough, but doing it at playoff speed is ridiculous. He may never be more than 75% during these playoffs, but as long as he helps out the PP that would be better than not having him.

I think the emergence of successful "lightning in a bottle" goalies like Dubnyk and Hamburgler will make the decision to start Darling in game 2 pretty easy for Q. This season has shown how valuable riding the hot goalie can be. I bet even a set in his ways guy like Q is smart enough to realize that.
