Probably.

Just like NFL coaches who don't go for it on fourth down enough.

Brick, get your resume together and get your ass out there. You are clearly wasting your time posting on CSFMB.

I'm not really interested in that line of work.

I prefer the ad populum attack, often seen on CSFMB when sinicalypse is arguing with dullards.

“For that group of people out there that want guys to bunt all the time, you don’t know the outcome when you choose to do that,” Maddon said, of choosing not to bunt with two runners on base and no outs in the ninth inning, and again following a leadoff double in the 10th. “I think the bunt is an overrated play.”

Maddon got to see how stupid the bunt was up close and personal when he worked for Scioscia.

People still think Scossia is a great manager.

Im not so sure. He's had tons of talent for a long time.

That was dumb too. It just seems way too risky to hire someone to do a job that they have never done before.

There's nothing wrong with hiring someone who has been a bench coach, base coach, minor-league manager, whatever. Hiring someone who has never been in any coaching/managing role at any level is questionable.

Yes but they were at least a head coach in another league or college.

Baseball isn't that complex that a guy who spent his whole career playing can't learn on the job.

The issue is when a guy who spent his whole career playing isn't learning on the job.

Ok, the way you said it seemed like you were saying someone who had already done the specific job. Like hiring a bench coach or guy from college wouldnt qualify.

I dont think Ventura had any interest in managing.

If your guys bat under .500 and opponents bat more than .050 the manager should probably be fired.

Rick Renteria was never a manager or a head coach anywhere. (above high school)

It's called Wikipedia jackoff After his playing career, Renteria has remained in baseball. His first minor league managerial job was in 1998 with the Brevard County Manatees in the Marlins organization

No challenge on the biggest play of the game today.

At least they get to use that one next game!

That and no INT walk to set up a double play. The ball that ended up being the game winning single was a tailor made double play ball.

It's getting to the point where you have to give up on White Sox baseball until the White Sox feel like trying.
