It seems like things have been flipped. Thibs has to prove he is a great coach. His playoff success doesn't indicate it. He may prove to be a great coach one day. I'm not going to call anyone a great coach because they are good at being a top 4 seed in the conference.

Once, and he has been outclassed in a few other series.

Dude. Stop calling him a great coach and I will.

If he simply needs the best player to win then he isn't.

Every coach in every sport struggles if they lose their best player

Saw this gem from February 8, 2012, when Rose had turf toe and back spasms. @MarkPotash: Tom Thibodeau said resting Rose against the 4-21 Hornets is not an option if Rose is healthy enough to play.

Derrick played 22 minutes, scored 6 points, sat the entire 4th quarter, Bulls won 90-67. He missed the next 5 games.

Boilermaker, is Thibs crazy? Yes, no question. Would he make a perfect NBA assistant coach or head college coach? Yes. As of now though, Group A of NBA head coaches are Thibs, Popovich, Carlisle, Kerr, Doc, and Budenholzer.

I do agree with you that to be great you have to win in the playoffs.

He is a really good coach who will be tough to replace and who will immediately find employment with another team

youre not watching enough then. he has been doing it on and off all year. thats why hes still OK in my book, because his injuries really did fully heal

and besides the rust, he is in his prime now. as long as he dont get hurt again, hes going to be a guy NOBODY wants to play.

I'm really curious about minute restrictions for Derrick and Joakim, especially in the second round against Cleveland. Gar was on with Carmen and Jurko today, of course he got softball questions, and he still sounded like a dumbass. I don't care for him. And I don't care for his obsession/love for Iowa State going back to the Tim Floyd days.

i dont care how long he takes to shake off the rust and get to prime condition. im just happy to see his knees are fine.

I think these were his 6 best games (chronologically):

@KCJHoop: Thibodeau said Rose and Noah will play roughly the same minutes they've been playing. If they're playing well. Touted depth.

I don't know if those restrictions can change as time goes on (I would think they would), because Rose playing 25-30 minutes against Cleveland would be dumb.

He is a top ten coach. I don't know if he is a top five. There are a few others that are better in my opinion. He definitely will have a job in no time. I have a few issues with the way he coaches but he has done a good job overall.

Hinrich's out. Snell is the 9th man. Noah, Rose, and Taj, aren't game time decisions. They're playing. They're fine.

You only need 8 guys in the playoffs. Bulls will be fine.

I'm sitting on the patio listening to the game. All I can think of is Mac saying "Boop". Swirsk also reminds me of Chet chitchat.
