Textbook example to never deal from desperation. He could no longer handle being Billy Beane, building of regular season division champions after Kenny Williams beat him to a World Championship.

What year was that world championship, by the way?

I don't have the time to try to look it up, but I swear that somebody on this board said that Addison Russell couldn't be any good because Billy Beane would never make a mistake like trading him away.
Can anyone help me out by figuring out who the genius was that stated this?

That is dumb. I have plenty of fond memories prior to 2005 in my life. In 30 years, I'll still remember those fondly along with 2005.

It's a shame when people can't enjoy the good things in life and are only worried about the present. IMU, I pity you. It sounds like even a World Series championship for the Cubs will only bring you momentary joy. By April of the next year, you won't even care it even happened!
