I don't want to turn this into a "North sucks" thread, but for those of you that like this show, what do you like about it?

It seems they only listen so they can log on here and complain about it.

The only thing I like, is when Mike and Mike are going off about how gay Greeny is or what an idiot Golic is, you can hit the button and North is interviewing a player or coach from a Chicago team.

I'm far more interested in that than a lot of the crap that's on Mike&Mike these days.

As I've said before I listen pretty much every day, but the show is very much hit & miss in terms of entertainment. It has improved markedly since they eliminated the political talk and got rid of Annie. I like the first 1/2 hour (6-6:30) because it is kind of an energetic free-for-all where Mike gets things off his chest from the previous night. I also (generally) enjoy his sports related interviews & I like the fact that his opinions on players, teams etc. are often completely different than the rest of the sports world (although I usually disagree with him).

I don't dislike North, but I am not going to tell you that his show is good either.

Someone recently said to me "North is a good sprts radio talk guy ion a bad show."

Which I agree with.

of course the real problem here is that he runs the show.

I have said it many times. People listen to the Score. I am not so sure the hosts bring the people in, I think the station does that. The Hosts then keep them or lose them.

I also don't hate North or anything like that, I just think he has lost his interest in hosting a sports show. Yes, primarily his show is talking sports, but too often he diverts away for too long into subjects that don't appeal to anyone but the over 50+ age group.

I really don't listen like I used to. I'm out of the house by 715-730, to get on the CTA, and you can't get good reception on the bus, even worse on the train. So by the time I get to work its about 830-845, by then I know that Silvy and Waddle are coming on in a few as my radio was still on ESPN 1000 from the day before.

north's ego has ruined his show. from the whole anne debacle to his threatining to sue a poster on this board, he continues to think he is the best radio guy in this town. hopefully, fingers crossed, he will go away when his contract expires.

He's a familiar voice that I have been listening to for many years and I am more stubborn than Lovie Smith to change my listening habits. My expectations are low. I don't expect to hear breaking news, or cutting edge opinions. I get them from this board. I'm opinionated enough on most things, sports and otherwise to care less about his opinions no matter how outrageous they are.
