I'm listening to him do updates as hub takes LoHo's show (shoot me - I'm waiting on people). I think his downfall is that he IS do vanilla and enunciates his words. No personality coming through. And for as much grief you give Matty, he does those updates tongue-in-cheek. He knows the monotony of reading the same damn thing every 30 mins and is most likely saying "dumb" things to save his own mental health. Same with his interjections throughout the show. Ain't no way Matty is taking himself seriously with B&B crap.

Back to Jordan, he may know his stuff, but unless there's a personality behind it, he's not getting anything outside of an update. Look at Herb Lawrence. He sounds like he has a dick in his mouth yet he's given weekend shows.

Maybe he knows what he is and isn't and is looking at play-by-play, not hosting, as the next step up. I think he's had some of the same here-and-there IHSA/college gigs that Rodewald has gotten.

lol at your Herb line.

My kind of lady. You could put a monkey in a room with a typewriter and within an hour it would come up with the exact algorithm for Jordan Bernfield: Sports Talk Radio Host.

Takes a call from a guy whose call drops, gets huffy, snarkily says "that guy had the best call of the night." How very Team Bernstein.

The Bernstein attitude is either contagious or mandatory at this point.

Just heard him on Hater Wednesday complaining that Hawks fans are priding themselves on having stayed up for the game but also felt tired today. "Then you shouldn't have stayed up if you were going to be tired the next day!" Sports fans, fuck them, right?

I have now heard Bernstein, Holmes, and Bernfield all say "the Cubs are really fun to watch. You should always be trying to watch the Cubs!" Editorial stance.

I'd like to see a timeline of when Dan first heard of a corporate partnership with the Cubs. His stance towards the team changed immediately and dramatically well before they were seeing improvements in the minor leagues.

It was the moment they put a smart young Jewish man in charge.

My remembrance takes it to the time they hired Julian Green. Even after Theo was hired, they still had lots of bumbling on the business end that was mocked. Julian Green seemed to be the game changer for the business end, where that goy Kenney was no longer a focus and the rooftop owners were vilified.

Shit, they had bumbling on the business end two weeks ago.

But yeah, he was very enthusiastic about Julian Green and the flavor he would bring. Though wasn't Green a flack for Rahm at one point?

Did I mention here that this guy almost exclusively uses Dave Matthews Band songs for bumps? Horrid.

I believe he was for Obama's senatorial campaign.

My emphasis is on "that was mocked." The mess ups continue but now it is all either acceptable to blame it on old man winter or old lady murphy
