He might be it....the guy is a beast and if you are really going 4-3 they need this NT to make the whole thing work, if they do take Shelton its based on them looking at this year and next years draft or FA's and he is the best option.

No, it really matters how they rate Cooper. Is he julius jones or is he Golden Tate? The impact of a truely great WR just doesnt come around often. Cooper showed big play ability in AL....but I cant tell you if White is = to or better . Someone gets paid a ton to do that.

Shelton is a safer pick.

And if you choose a WR, then you send a team of scouts to New England to scout the "all you can eats" and sign Vince Willfork as a stop gap.

I'd be happy with him, Fowler (sp) or Leonard Williams. If any of those 3 are available at 7, you take them over any of those wide outs.

And don't read me wrong, I know I have been championing the DT thing since we've started talking draft: I think White and Cooper both will be very good players.

I wouldn't pass on them in this draft do to a belief that I didn't think they were very good.


But I think the value from a grade perspective on these guys is similar if not the same between Williams, Fowler, Shelton, White and Cooper.


So when that is about equal, you go to the next thing which is need -and if we are really switching to a 3-4, we NEED a NT more than we need a #1 WR, and there just happens to be a very talented NT at the top of this draft in Shelton. Not a sexy pick like the wideouts, but its the right pick imo.
