There was 5 of said MILF's and I cleaned up today. Hit 3 Trifectas! and a Daily Double.

My sister pulls a 2-5-9 $8 Tri straight in the final race!!!! This was 100% luck and and 10% mistake!

I think I am doing it big with the $4 Tri, Keyed the 2 with the 5,7,9 for the $380 W, then she shows me the 2-5-9 Tri! For $8??????? huh? The 8$ amount was in from her previous bet and she just put it in with the 2-5-9, for no reason $766 in the final race, plus $8 on the 2 to win, big wow.....

Last year was my first season attending AP. Beginner's luck saw me hit on 3 Exacta boxes that paid over $150 each. A friend of mine taught me how to read the program, and I bet jockeys more than horses.

This year? Not so lucky. I'm suffering from paralysis from analysis. I still bet jockeys more than horses, but I find reasons to talk myself out of picks that I probably would've bet last year.

What do you guys who are veteran attendees look for when placing your bets?

In no particular order, I look at: the jockey, speed rating, if they're a first time Lasix user, race history in terms of class.

I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff, as the program has a lot more detail. Those are usually the first things I look at before placing a bet.

I'm probably going next Saturday as a tune up for the Million the following week. If anyone wants to meet up, let me know.

Jockey would be one of the last things I look at. In fact, a jockey that is not a top guy at the meet will often help the price and create value for the bettor.

With so many races at 6f, I like to look for lone speed horses that can control the pace. This is a tougher angle since they switched to the rubber surface and the track rarely favors speed horses.

I like to bet maiden races and throw out the horse that has started eight or ten times with a bunch of seconds and thirds. Those types of animals are almost always overbet.

On the turf I look for horses coming out of a race at a mile and a sixteenth that got the final fraction (5/16) in 29 seconds or less. In a high class race there may be many of them, so it won't really be helpful. But if you've got a horse stepping up from allowance company at 1-1/16 who went the last fraction in 28.4 and today he is in a graded stake, he's almost always going to be live at a big price.

One of the best Fathers Day that I ever had was at Arlington Park with my family. It is a wonderful place.
