Its a chain and in a bad location so I'm skeptical, but after looking at the website and Yelp it looks like it might be pretty good. Some odd and interesting things on the menu that you don't usually see at BBQ places like BBQ fried rice, lamb shoulder, deviled eggs. The pulled pork comes with fried pork skin in it, never seen that before.

Living as close as I do to Smoque I don't see this place stealing me away, but I would like to give it a try for sure. I'll wait till the hype dies down abit since it just opened.

It's not that big a chain. Started in Syracuse I think. Locals there swear by it. It's pretty good

That sounds like heaven in my mouth. I'll definitely have to check this place out. From what I've read they attend bbq fests with the big shots from St. Louis ad Texas so if it's close to that type of quality bbq in Chicago that's a homerun.

Dino is a direct pupil of Mike Mills of 17th Street BBQ in Murhysboro, IL

And if you know anything about BBQ, Mike Mills is the legend. Anyone that learned from him has to be producing top quality stuff.

Stopped in there once, mentioned a guy I know who took his class and he gave me a tour of the place a bunch of tips for smoking ribs.

So while DINO is well reviewed, even with 8 or 9 locations, I would gave to believe that the product is still very good, even with the larger quantities of product they are cooking.

Thanks for the info, I did not know that there was a connection between this place and the world famous 17 Street BBQ. Now I'll definitely give it a try.


Always wanted to try 17th Street BBQ, but have never been to that part of the state and don't know when or if that will ever happen. How far is it from Chicago? Maybe I can turn it into a golf day/bbq road trip.

Looks like I now have a weekend road trip to try the bbq at 17th street. Maybe even stop in St. Louis to get Pappy's and Bogart's. Thanks Bigfan
