They'll trade down for a later first, a second and a fourth

good by me if it lands Dupree, Ray or Gregory, which is likely

I'm not sure about Gregory. The dude looked so damn skinny at the Combine. Plus, I read that there are rumors about his personal life that are scaring some teams away about things that haven't come out yet. He's projected to drop possibly into the early/mid 20s.

What the hell is with the Cooper/Jones comparisons? Jones has made the Falcons exactly what? Matty Ice is tossing him the rock....after Cutler is gone...who will be throwing the ball to him? Seems like a lot of questions.

Ray dropping in the draft equates to Warren HOF Sapp dropping in the draft

Oh man that would be perfect.

Get a guy who could anchor the D line and still be in position to get another good player at 10.

Would make sense for St Louis since they signed Fairley

Ray was already dropping due to a foot injury that might keep him out of the 2015 season before he got pinched with the bag of weed.

I think it will take more than just Brockers and I would love if they could move up a from Bear 4th round to Ram 3rd.

If you go by the trade value chart, moving from 10th to 7th would cost the Rams 200 points.

If the Bears traded their 4th (106th pick) for the Rams 3rd (72nd pick) it would cost the Bears 148 points leaving 52 points of value or, roughly, a late 4th round pick (which in this scenario would be Brockers).

So, essentially the Bears drop 3 spots in the 1st, get Brockers, and move from the 10th pick of the 4th round to the 8th pick of the 3rd round. That would be great.

In truth, based on that scenario, I'd say the Bears are overpaying for Brockers if he's considered the equivalent of a late 4th round pick.

where would you value him?

I have a difficult time understanding how the NFL undervalues its productive players in trades but overvalues its prospects. It seems that no one gets much more than a 5th. If you rate Brockers as a 5th, then maybe move the 3rd rounder for Rams 2nd.

Then you'd be trading a 71st pick for a 41st pick which is 255 points of value and far too much for the 1st round swap.

The mathematical side of me loves being able to quantify trade values in this way but the fan in me thinks it's all a bunch of crap. However, it does seem that most teams use this method now.

Yeah, I'd say Brockers is about a 6th-round trade value in this NFL world considering he's owed about $5 million this year and I think he's only slated to be a situational down guy for the Rams.

I guess the question would be who would the Rams be targeting to move up to get at 7? I assume it would have to be either Cooper or White or both. So, maybe if those guys are sitting there your trade scenario happens and the Bears take the 10th and draft an edge rusher since they wouldn't need Shelton any longer since they have Brockers and now they've moved up with 2 early 3rd round picks. I like this scenario a lot.

It has to be White or Cooper

Rams couldn't be looking to move up for MORE defense than they already have.

Scheffer just Tweeted out that Martellus Bennett might be on the trading block.

Bears might be buyers, not sellers. They could move up to the 5th or possibly 4th pick with a trade out of the high-3rd round back into the mid-4th and Bennett.

I don't know if that works with the teams involved, just speculating.

You're forgetting about Scherff. He's been tied to the Giants since February. Rams could be hopping ahead of the Jints

I was wondering why they have 6 TE's on the roster.

a valid point, but if you've watched jones on the field he is a dominant player (health issues have dogged him) but when he plays he puts up video game numbers and cannot be covered 1 on 1.... the problem for the falcons is they gave up i believe a total of 6 draft picks over two years to move up to get jones in 2011. The bears have the chance to get a star caliber WR without having to mortgage the future like ATL did.

All that being said.... I don't think cooper makes it to pick 7 and I dont think the bears are going to move up to take him.

that would make sense given the supposed desire of management/ownership to rid themselves of bad attitude players. Bennett should bring back a nice haul considering he is signed for 2 more years at VERY reasonable money (lok at the stupid high money buffalo just gave Charles Clay.. a TE who is not nearly as good as bennett has been) and he has been very productive the last two years and I believe most view him as a capable blocker. Unless they get an offer they can't refuse I would rather they hang on to marty

It they are getting rid of Bennett, they might as well be looking to move Forte and moving Marshall, Bennett and Forte makes the keeping of Cutler nonsensical

once Mariotta and Winston get settled, I'd like the Bears to make a call to their teams for a late round pick in exchange for Glennon, Mettenberger or Manziel

Titans beat writer saying the Bears are in talks to move up to two to draft Mariota.

And then trade him to Philly or Cleveland?

I don't think that leaks unless one team or both want it out there.

Won't happen IMO.

I don't think it happens either.

Bersntein's source said they are interested. So that means book it.
