Matt Forte was one of two winners of the Brian Piccolo Award, which is voted on by Bears players who pick teammates they feel best epitomizes the courage, loyalty, teamwork, dedication, and sense of humor of the late Brian Piccolo.

But Forte wasn't in attendance, prompting some to criticize the Bears running back whose contract expires at the end of 2015.

I'm with Forte for the most part.

Except for the part where he says he didn't have George McCaskey's number. He couldn't have found somebody within the Bears that could have gotten him that number? C'mon.

Christ, Forte's agent could have gotten it for him as he's in contact with Pace. There. Two people removed from George. Simple.

I'll side with anyone calling out Kaplan.

Once again, a player talking about lack of communiation within the organization.

Let me give George some credit for making an effort to change a culture of a family that treated this team like its little play toy. George has tried to be a CEO that appears confident and accountable...and I believe he wants to be, but he still comes off like a spineless weakstick.

At least Kaplan has the balls to call the guy out then have him on his show to answer for it instead I mumbling something like eeeee, uhhhh, yea, for the love of God, ummmmm bad guy and hide behind his mic.

what a penis kaplan is, but he is right that forte could have and probably should have made it up for the award ceremony even if that meant leaving his family with the wife... but i don't believe this was a purposeful slight because of the desire to get a contract extension.

i thought forte's interview with B&B was actually pretty insightful. You have to respect his desire to get an extension... and you have to respect the bears position that they may not want to give an extension at this time. Forte even suggested he could reduce his cap hit this year to do an extension... but obviously the bears are fine with a higher cap this year if it means no guarenteed cap hits the next few years.

Beat me to it. Exactly right. At least Kap has a set.

Kap's a douche but why? At least the guy is challenging players to their face!

How long has Mac lived off his "what's so funny?" interview with QB Eric Kramer. I think Kap get's a bum deal around here and I used to be one of them. After watching and listening to him over time, I think he gives great effort.

I'm on Forte's side. He is on vacation with his family. Basically he is saying, "they should have asked me before scheduling the event and I would have told them I would be on vacation that week." This is on the Bears.

Also, most players don't care about these events. They probably don't even know what position Brian played or what years.

Kaplan needs to chill out. I LOL when he asked if he would regret not going to the event after he is retired. No meatball head, I am pretty sure he will still be happy he spent his vacation with his family.
