Excellent move to draft middle relief in the first round last year. Gotta shore up that bullpen.

Now he will get his chance to start...because the 6 IP over 3 different games has really stretched him out,,,,

Because, remember, thats the way the Sox do things....they keep guys in the pen and work them into starters...

All 6 Innings...

Love when the Sox create these little themes that make them great?

Remember the great Latin Culture only the Sox offer? I am sure Robin just oozes latin Culture...

The Grinder Rules....that Adam Eaton is such a Grinder...because the Sox are the only team that like guys that hustle...its a unque trait.

This pitching thing of bringing guys up and putting them in the Pen for their first year....I guess that changed....

Good lukc to Mr Rodon, picked him on my roto, hopefully Coop doesnt fuck up this guy too much as well.

You mean like the Cubs doing things "the right way", as if the Cubs are the only team trying to draft good young players... it's a unique trait.

Dont think trying to draft good young players anyone declared as unique, actually doing it is unique.

We had the question a few days ago about how quickly a GM would trade Wood, Hammel and Hendricks for Rodon. A more interesting question is whether a team would trade Bryant for Rodon today.

Never trade a 23 yr old 3B for a pitcher. Assuming they might even both be all stars at one point, I will be on the longevity of the 3B over the pitcher.

No one would trade a 23 y/o 3B for a 22 y/o relief pitcher who can spot start.

Lets be fair...Rodon is a starter...and will be very good, still not trading for pitchers when giving up talent like Bryant.

Billy McKinney....maybe

Would you rather have Bryant or Rodon on the Sox?

Try all of MLB has a very high opinion of Bryant. He has not disappointed since being called up. I could turn it around and say Sox fans have a very high opinion of Rodon.

The A's traded a Russell + for Samardzija last year.

Thanks for the laughs, Cubbie fans.

Bryant is a left fielder who is temporarily playing (a poor) third base.

I wouldn't touch a single Cubs prospect for a while. Too much hype, hard to tell how good some of them are. When Alcantara and Baez's value absolutely bottoms out in 6 months to a year I'd think about buying low, but for now those guys are considered still some of the best talent in baseball by the Cubs when evidence clearly proves otherwise.

So if the Cubs, and prospect guru's around the country on the Cubs payroll, got those two so wrong how am I (the opposing GM) supposed to really know if the price the Cubs would demand for Bryant/Russell/Schwarber is really what those players are worth? Just avoid the whole thing for now.

Carlos Rodon would probably win the Cubs more games as a reliever than Bryant will at 3B. The Cubs cannot for the life of them hold a lead.

The Cubs won Russell for Shark.

And then the A's quickly realized their blunder and found a sucker by robbing Semien from the Sox.

Poor Rick Hahn.

Speaking of Semien he homered twice of Felix yesterday. I loved him and was sad to see him go.

Try all of baseball has a very high opinion of Rodon. He's widely considered to have a slider comparable to Carlton's or Johnson's. He has not disappointed since being called up.

You act like the mere idea that many teams might prefer Rodon is preposterous. A .280/.380/20 homer guy without a real defensive position or a top-of-rotation lefty. I don't believe the choice is as obvious as you seem to suggest.

ASG debate: Is Pederson or Bryant the top rookie?

Baseball is riding another wave of young talent this spring, with big-name prospects turning into Major League stars before our wide-open eyes. Youth will certainly be represented at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. But if you had to make a choice between the guy who was most breathlessly awaited and the one who has made the biggest difference in the early going, who would you pick? The Cubs' Kris Bryant or the Dodgers' Joc Pederson?

Hmmm, no mention of Rodon... BUT BUT...... how can that be..... He is the next S. Carlton?.

ASG debate: Bryant or Carpenter at third?

the question here is who should be the NL's starting third baseman in the All-Star Game -- the Cardinals' Matt Carpenter or the Cubs' Kris Bryant?

STARTING first baseman Bryant. BUT BUT... how can that be.... He is a left fielder who is playing a poor 3B.... Must be a typo. Yeah, yeah that's has to be it!

White Sox fans you are the laughing stock of Chicago. How does it feel?

have people really been bamboozled into thinking that starting pitching is not the most highly valued commodity in baseball (as it has been since doubleday laid down the rules), with top of the rotation left handed starting pitching being the most prized in that category?

Nobody said Rodon was Carlton but a lot of Cub fans sure do think Bryant is Mike Schmidt.

This is why no fans of any other team take Cub fans seriously. You team is .500 and you're chirping like they're King Kong.

Instead of getting angry with me or dolphin RPB should direct his ire at goofs like you.

does anyone know if he's sticking around the rotation yet? i was under the assumption he was spot-starting for the suspended SHARK, but with noesi's hip and all that maybe he's preferable to scott carroll? or are they trying to save his limited innings for the wild card push?
