The league came down hard!

So its a bigger deal to deflate the ball than to beat the crap out of your kid, wife or gf. Got it.

Wow. I thought 4 games. The 1 million is nothing to Kraft. But a #1 draft pick is big.

Kraft is pissed. No more parties with Roger. He's dead to him now.

How many times do think the Patriots should be allowed to get to be caught cheating before the hammer is dropped?

The $1 mill, then the #1 pick....I get it!....

But...where did the 4th round penalty come in?

I guess it's a "what the hell" from Roger. Kind of like that one extra kick to the gut when you've already knocked him out.

....or something to drop on appeal? Like Brady down to 2 games?

Yeah. That was my prediction. 4 games dropped to 2 on appeal. But now I'm thinking it will be dropped to 3. Because of the other shit that Roger did to the team. He thinks it was a big deal.

I don't think the Kraft can appeal the fine or the draft picks though. They don't have a union. I could be wrong. But they are actually the boss of Roger. So who do they go to for an appeal?

Bullshit . Saints did far less and they got a far larger penalty.
They broke no rule yet they had major suspensions. This is second time the Pats get caught outright cheating and affecting the outcome of games. Just goes to show the politics of the NFL. Once again Kraft has nothing to be pissed about. Brady and Belicheck should both have year long suspensions

if brady turns over his phone or cooperates he probably can for certain be linked and gets suspended for a full year. Did the NFL even correct how their balls (pun intended) are handled pre-game? neither team should have access and as long as the ball is inflated to a certain std pressure there is no issue to worry about

Mess with gambler's willingness to bet on NFL games is a no-no. The beating of wife, kid, GF, etc. is only an issue because they're tired of pressure groups.

Money, its always money.

Any pick taken away from Hoodie is huge. He loves stockpiling those picks and trading them for more picks. Probably figured a 1 and a 2 or 3 might be a little harsh so just take a 4th.

I think he wanted to come down hard on this so he couldn't be accused of being soft on them. They lied and cheated (again), Kraft is a buddy, Brady is your poster boy and I think he wanted to send the message no you guys can't do this and I don't care who you are.

I don't know if I like or agree with the suspensions that come from stuff that goes on outside of football. On the one hand I give them credit for trying to clean some of the bad stuff. On the other hand I don't know if it should fall under the league's jurisdiction or that they should be treated worse than any of us that do something. They will always treat their stars different, and there are too many grey areas.

And appeal and 2 games means nothing significant.
The draft picks are what hurts.

Watch Belichick go 4-0 with Garoppolo at QB. That would be his ultimate "fuck you" to everybody.

Nobody has brought this up.

Roger fined Kraft 1 million. But Brady loses 2 million by missing 4 game checks that Kraft doesn't have to pay. So Kraft has a net gain of 1 million.

True. Roger showed that he's not a puppet. Cuz it's been reported that he and Kraft are long time friends. Kraft supported him during the Ray Rice stuff. Roger loses Kraft now. But I'll bet he gained the support of other owners cuz a lot of them hate Kraft.

Usually those forfeited game checks go to the pension fund.

They'll appeal. They'll get something back, maybe draft picks. Money isn't an issue. They'll be fine.
