Mike can't control his show being bad, but he can cultivate a following of sponsors. While the sales people close every deal, Mike deals one on one with a number of sponsors. Spada, JDS, Gardinaire company.

So he is a rare breed that spends his time selling his own show, thus helps the gross income.

Of course part of the reason he does it is because he is a control freak and when he gets offered a lower contract and he explores his other options he will look to take his sponsors with.

The smart sponsors are th guys who no longer support him. They no longer support him because he has abad base of listeners and the ads just didn't work.

when was the last time you heard a "Little Guys" ad on North's show? I hear them on MAC all the time.
