CH....this is a bit, right? Are you secretly pulling for a Hawks defeat so you can throw a "TOLD YA !!!!" on everyone? It seems like you take zero joy from this team no matter how much they win.

I'm at the point where I get more relief than joy from this team, yeah. Maybe my attitude will change next year once the championship window is closed again.

Let's hope we have a #1 center for Game 2, because we sure as shit didn't today.

And what the fuck did the great Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf do today? Seems like Anaheim didn't have a number 1 center or wing today either.

Getzlaf had a decent game, actually. Kept off the scoreboard for most of the day, but a decent game. Better than Toews, who just went around shitting himself all day. Perry was useless, though, yeah.

First-tier guys usually get cancelled out. 2010 was Byfuglien going out of his mind scoring. 2013 was Bickell going out of his mind scoring. Don't get me wrong, stars do make a difference. A small part of me hoped that Teuvo would have some crazy breakout. I think Saad will continue to be a beast and be that second-tier guy this year.

I just am not that worried about this series. It may go 6 or 7 games, but I think the Hawks will eventually prevail as the more dominant and talented team.

Dont fret Hockey Gays. Hawks are better and deeper than the Ducks. 1 game means nothing.

The Hawks had alot of rust to knock off after that absurd break. Thanks Bulls and Kanye.

Aside from 5 I don't think the Hawks were that bad nor were the Ducks that good. This series is definitely going to test my fondness for Pennywise though.

Don't go down 2-0 though....don't do that. I also see that Rockford is now done. Paging Mr. Johns....Paging Mr. Johns....you're flight to LA is boarding.

So pretty much no worries, right. Hawks outplayed them and lost. What are ya gonna do?

Bulls had nothing to do with the Hawks long break. They opened on the road. Had nothing to do with the United Center not being available. The NHL just wanted both East and West to start at the same time.

Relax. One game there is no way they will will 3 more. Hawks passes where a little sloppy but with over a week off was to be expected. There is no way if the shot disparity continues will Anihiem be able to win.

I don't like this feeling. Hawks did outplay them and lost. Runblad is no dang good and Corey is corey at times. He stayed down on that third goal, I think. The second he gave right to the ducks. Kane missed a goal. I'm a little worried. They should be able to do it and it's only one game but there is something bad going on.

N0...nothing bad is going on. The Hawks are fine.

I'm not CHing just yet. I saw things I didn't like that's all. Their 3 and 4 lines beat ours last night. Our first two have a lot of minutes and do things they can't do. I don't know who was out there with Keith on the goal that he was kinda pinching up on. We need people in front of the net and to keep people out of ours. We played well and got beat. It is one game though. I still think it will be okay but I'm not as sure as I was a few days ago.

If it's any solace, vegas still has the Blackhawks as a very mild [+165, and that's down 0-1 in the series] underdog for the series--neither team has broken +200 or -200 for the series. Ducks flirting with it at -190. Hawks win tomorrow and it flips--Hawks become favorites, and Ducks become dawgs.

Hawks, like most hockey teams, play much better with a lead. Kane whiffing early Sunday didn't help. Expect Kane to bounce back in Game 2, similar to how Tyler Johnson did tonight for the Lightning.

Kaner should have the freshest legs out there. I think he just needs to Stay Calm and Win The Cup.

oh, and

Scotty Bowman doesn't get you this far, with this much talent, and 2 goalies to choose from and NOT make the Finals.

Do we know what Scotty really does with the Hawks anymore? I don't think he maintains an office in Chicago. I think he splits his time between Tampa and Buffalo (?!?) and just phones stuff in.

I'm not sure which one of Cumiskey's 7 NHL games in the past 4 years inspires confidence. I would have stuck with Rundblad.

Hawks in 6 still.

Ducks 9-1, won't reach double digit wins in this year's SC playoffs.

Keep calm, Hossa told me so!

Until Scotty stops showing up front-n-center in the team photo with the Stanley Cup, I assume it's his show behind the scenes.

After game 1, I'd like to see

29-19-81
86-91-88
10-80-20
11-65-11

If Kesler is going to shadow Toews always, lets get Bickell out there to make life uncomfortable for him. He may not be scoring, but he's been delivering hits consisently.

Lines 2 and 3 should be able to consistently pants the Ducks with their speed.

Well now we know it's one of two people in charge of NHL scheduling ...
