Hawks just got their asses handed to them in OT. They're out of gas at this point. If this team somehow wins the Cup with 4 dmen it will go down as folklore.

This series is showing what I've been saying for months, which is that the Hawks aren't built for this league anymore. They're too small and too clean* to reckon with teams that are almost as skilled but can abuse with impunity. We laugh at Pierre McGuire (well, I do) for jacking off to how big players are, but if the league doesn't want to call obstruction anymore, then physicality is going to be what wins games again.

*Also, a disturbing trend through the last two years is that the Hawks barely take penalties all year but take a ton in the playoffs. They, of all teams, couldn't stay out of the box against Los Angeles, and it killed them. I don't get it.

That last one was stupid. Some are acceptable.

Hawks had one less shot in OT than Anaheim. Hawks had one more penalty than Anaheimin OT. Both teams had chances in OT. There was NO domination in that OT.

If not for a bad second - hell, even with the bad second, the Hawks are right there. They get the game winner and all of a sudden they will have broken serve.

Geez, you'd think they lost Game 4 7-2 to get swept by reading some of the posts...

Let's throttle it down a tad until it goes one way or the other.
