Well, first strike against our new GM.

Although Pace said it was our new DC that convinced him. So he'll put it on him. But you're the GM. So he has to own it.

So, no, he will not be playing for the Bears this year.

Hard or dumb? It would seem this was a no-brainer but when a guy pays for his own flight and his parents vouch for him, I can see how a decision could be swayed.

I can just imagine Pace flipping burgers on his grill for his family. He probably has PFT udates on his phone. Or some kind of NFL updates.

I don't think that it's wrong to give someone another chance, especially when you consider that he was never arrested before. Having said that, if he was arrested, then I would expect the Bears to release him and say that they took a chance and it didn't work out. Bernsie won't need to say anything.

He was never arrested before. I would have faulted McCaskey if he had never taken the time to sit down with him.

He looked at the situation and spoke to many of his former coaches, family and friends. If making a well researched decision is dumb to you, then so be it.
