I don't think it's the duty of a citizen to inform on the heavily armed gangsters in his neighborhood, do you? When that poor guy in Englewood snitches, he may get a beatdown- or worse- the next time he walks out of his house. Who is going to protect him? You? Rahm Emanuel? McCarthy? And what was Richie Daley's excuse? Did he think Vanecko might attack him?

I understand both cops and citizens who are hesitant to stand up to the murderers/criminals they encounter in their daily lives. In both cases, you might be killed for saying something.

Cops who inform get hung out to dry or worse. They get no help when found in a dangerous situation. They find themselves alone, in bad districts and without a partner.

It's tough standing up to drug dealers and gangs.

It's frightening that as I grow older I tend more and more to accept the latter as true.

I used to laugh because in some areas in the winter & fall I'd always be mistaken for a cop, which used to be a benefit. Not anymore.

Stand up to the drug dealers? What? Hey seacreat have you ever been to a dopespot by chance? What do you think happens there? Menacing/recruiting neighborhood children? Shooting dogs for fun? Dude ppl show up get their shit and leave. Usually neighbors only get pissy if you always park in front of their house and make it harder for them to get in and out.

There's a saying that you don't shit where you eat... So you respect the neighbors/neighborhood of your business and common courtesy is usually extended. The ppl are just trying to make $$$ after all and they're risking their freedom/well-being/life to do so. Most people don't begrudge that unless the kids doing it are total asshokes, which usually isn't the case if you want to have a quality spot.

You know try as they might Popeye's can't hire everybody, right? Maybe the kids should go work in one of the many commercial subdivisions down that way. Lots of industrial opportunities too! A whole lot more than liquor stores corner stores gas stations hair salons clothes shops and food joints!

I'm just sayin that most people understand what "the game" is and its not as ostentatious and outwardly menacing as suburban ppl would think.

heard a story today about 3 cops who lied about a situation that was videotaped and they testified in court as to how a situation went down, didnt know a tape existed,,,,and then the judge showd the tape in court as the 4th cop is on the stand....she had the chance to change her story as she was on the stand....but the other 3 are going way...

So I tried to look up the story about some cops lieing in contrary to video and the list of stories is so long, cant even find it.

Everyday, it does seem the cops are losing more and more in the war of popular opinion.

My favorite part of that video is right at the beginning when that cop rolls as if he's storming the beach at Normandy or like he thinks he's Hondo Harrelson from SWAT.

"Good cops" are the ones who made a minimal effort to stop their brother when he pulled his gun out like some kind of maniac after he tried his best to create a riot.
