Obviousely some issues exist between GarPax and Thibbs, thats no real secret, but any decent GM has his shortlist of guys he wants to talk to at all times.

Hoiberg is a LONG TIME Gar Guy! Recruited him at Iowa state, Coached him, signed him with the Bulls as scout. Great success now in ISU.

Long time profile of Reinsdorf loving the next unknown coach at the same time bringing back a known ame, because thats what the fans want! right?

Much of this depends on how far the Bulls go in the playoffs, because I do think Jerry would step in if the Bulls go far and Thibbs entrenches himself in the job, but lose eraly and Jerry lets GarPax do what he wants.

I thought he was Golden State's first choice, even before Kerr. He was actually recruited in-town by Johnny Orr. When Tim Floyd took over he brought Gar with him and inherited Hoiberg, who I think was a junior at the time. Plus I think Hoiberg has a kid in school for a couple of more years but after that it seems like he would go, but who knows. He's building a juggernaut in Ames. Maybe his heart condition will prevent him from taking an NBA job.
