Glad I do not watch this show. Sitting in same room while Mrs. Scooter catches up with Young and the Breastless DVR episodes is bad enough. This show must be worse as far as I can tell.

This show isn't that bad. Sure, a 12 year old girl was lit on fire tonight, but its been 2 episodes now since we've witnessed a young girl getting raped. Oh wait, that also happened again tonight, albeit behind closed doors this time.

So keeping score for the season....

Last night's episode had some great unexpected shit go down. The first hour was very slow and jumped around too many stories. But then, holy shit, the second half was great.

I was totally caught off guard that the burning of Shireen would actually happen. Her screams were chilling. The actor who plays Stannis was stone cold. What a haunting yet excellent scene.

Dany's storyline has taken a 180 since Tyrion arrived in Mereen. I enjoyed the back and forth between Daario, Dany, Mereen dude and Tyrion. The battling between Harpies and Dany group was pretty good. Drogon's arrival was bad ass. I have a small gripe with that scene as the Unsullied were getting lit up pretty bad. The show is making these cats pretty soft when they should be machine like warriors.

Dorne has been pretty boring. Haven't really seen a point to it all season.

I'm disappointed we didn't get more Wall scenes. Next week shit is going down. I'm very curious how they're doing to do it. No question they've set up Ollie to do the dirty deed.

Also looking forward to seeing more Winterfell scenes. We saw Sansa learned of her brothers still being alive and that was that.

It was a pretty good episode, very hard to follow Hardhome. The only beef I had with it was the borderline bad CGI when Dany rode the dragon out of the
stadium. That was pretty bad and cheesy but I understand it had to be done. Just looked bad to me.

shireen's burning scene is one of the most unsettling sequences i've seen on television period. absolutely chilling. if you want to piss yourself off, go read salon.com's uber feminist viewpoints that basically think this is a boyshow mistreating girls all the time (nevermind what the men do to each other).

i thought the entire episode was entertaining but the second half definitely won. i think that's been the case for the past few episodes. but i don't think the SOH are necessarily more skilled than the unsullied--there are just tons more of them. it's almost like 75% of the population are SOH. i wanted to see the other two dragons too but maybe that's why everybody ran away.

i mean, the point of burning shireen was only explained two episodes ago and the 1st half of the episode clearly explained how stannis' hand was forced. whatever.

I agree , the dragon scene at end was cheesy as hell. These dragons look weak as hell compared to smaug .




The unsullied get their ass beat every time they fight, One thing I don't like is the Harpy in the masks had em surrounded good n had the numbers...why stall ? Move in for the kill .

I was surprised they even opened the gates for Jon snow.

This show's been done as quality television for a while now IMO and is just something I watch because it's on, but last week's episode was just enough of a bright spot to get me annoyed about how bad it was once again last night. The stuff that's been going on for the last few seasons has me questioning whether Martin ever had any appreciation of the fantasy tropes he was supposedly trying to subvert or whether his MO this whole time has been to merely be shocking for the sake of shocking.

for those complaining about the death of shireen, i think they either have short term memory loss or have not been paying attention to this show...in the first damn episode a little boy was thrown out of a tower and paralyzed. for watching two people having incestuous sex. and NOW you're offended?

Also...the Butcher's Boy in S01E03? Baratheon's possible bastards at the whorehouse.... etc. etc.

Lots of rumors circling the net about tomorrow's episode. Benjen Stark is coming back. Stoneheart will show up. Stannis gets killed by Brienne. I guess some person involved with the show said this episode will "break the internet."
