It is spectacularly inhuman and cruel to leave the house with the Score on all day.

My favorite part of the show today was the Rich King interview, where Mike waxes poetic on wedding vows and how Rich is a real man. Isn't this the same guy that got busted for picking up a hooker?

I drive my car from home to the train station so I don't get much time on my commute into work to listen to Mike North as I flip from him and Mike and Mike (just so I don't have to listen to commercials) and what do I hear on Mike North? Him having the audacity to hypothsize that kids who have been 'touched', and come back, they must like it. Did it ever occur to Mike that adults can play mind tricks on these kids. Here is a thought, maybe this wacko told the kid that if he mentioned this to anyone, he was going to kill his parents or maybe even him? Kids don't know how to fully think things through. They are very impressionable and believe things that people tell them.

I just could not believe my ears when he said that they like it. I hope that a father of one of the kids that was involved heard this and wrings his neck.

Yes, I heard that too and it was ridiculous. Then afterward Fred kept repeating how if anyone touches, you, you let him know. Between that and the radio show contest they must have some delusion that 10 year olds are listening to their show. In fact, Fred is probably one of the people doing the touching. What a bunch of asshats

Actually Rich King is truly someone we should be looking up to....if you haven't seen the story he just wrote, for him and his wife, it's pretty depressing story

http://www.mymaggie.com/about/

She was his childhood sweetheart and wife of thirty-two years. Diagnosed with hearing loss at the age of four, she wore cumbersome hearing aids and felt the humiliation of being "different." Slowly, an insidious disease robbed her of vision. She fought three different cancers, changed careers in the middle of her life and fought to realize her dreams. Yet, underneath these great challenges, there was an incredible love shared by two people. It was cemented by adversity and reached a near perfect spiritual connection. They lived a classic old-fashioned love story.

Sure, it's sappy but I can't imagine having to deal with all that with any loved one.

Yeah, you can imagine the burden it must be on the spouse, let alone being the person suffering from those ailments.

Right, thus the irony of North preaching about being a good husband

Agreed. I just wasn't sure if everyone on the board knew Rich and Maggie's story.

No offense to Rich King, he's been a solid sportscaster, and seems like a good guy who's had to go through a lot with his wife being so sick, but I won't be purchasing this book.

spring convention?

Rich was doing interviews on various stations while the baseball season was still going. I heard him with Levine on Talkin' Baseball and somewhere else as well. Might have been on Dahl. Good story. I don't know much about the guy, but loving someone and watching them slowly die takes an immeasurable amount of character to get through.
