Yep, the Bucks have tied a ton of money into Bobby Simmons and Mo Williams. And they drafted a guy that wants nothing to do with them. Very impressive.

They didn't piss off the Chinese. They just knew he would not be marketable in milwaukee and kept him on the team in China.

That better be a VERY minimal contract.

What do you guys think of Yi so far? I haven't been blown away, but still impressed. I think a lot of people thought he was going to be a bust, and while we're only a few games into the season I don't think he's going to be

He's got a nice touch outside, good FT shooter, and seems pretty athletic. He's going to get some rebounds just because of his size, but I wonder if the Bucks are going to try and have him bulk up or not. He looks pretty skinny. Probably because of that it seems like he doesn't play inside too much.

Hes been better than I thought he'd be, but he has made a horrible transition to the NBA game so far. He will probably foul out somewhere around 15 games this year. Yao took awhile to transition too so Yi still has lots of tremendous upside potential.

He plays meaner than Yao did in his first couple seasons.
That's a very good sign for the Bucks.

Right, I like his aggressiveness, although as FF pointed out he's picking up fouls at an extremely fast clip

I haven't seen the Bucks this year, how are they playing Yi and Bogut? Is Bogut playing the 4 when they are in together??

Well, I guess...Bogut pretty much just posts up and does the grunt work, Yi hangs around outside. Has a nice shot, but like I said I wonder if he's going to bulk up and play inside more, or if that's what they have in mind for him- to play outside more, maybe like Dirk or something

Isn't that Luol Deng playing the guitar?

I thought Muggsy was a career Hornet. Never knew about any stint with the Bullets.

Wow! Talk about learning something new every day. Muggsy also played for the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Washington Bullets, Golden State Warriors and Toronto Raptors.

I was watching the Hawks-Bucks game last night (didn't know Marvin Williams was out, kept looking for him)

Micheal Redd is just devastating. I realize this isn't a ground breaking thought, but I saw him on several occasions last night give an up fake, drive to the hole and finish with an acrobatic move. Obviously 99.9% of the league is going to bite if he gives a fake on the perimeter, if he starts incorporating driving to the basket more he could average 30+. It seems when I watched him before after faking he would take a couple steps and take a jumper, but if he can get to the hole and finish, man, look out.

I also saw Yi take a 3 pointer

There was a good article on Michael Redd in the recent ESPN Mag. After his stint on the Olympic team, he really worked at his body and is now pretty buff, rather than puffy like he was. That's going to help him take it to the hole. I woul;dn't be surprised to see him mentioned in the upper echelon of players very soon.

Why is this team so bad? In the past few weeks they've been getting blown out and just crushed. Not even close.

Bogut seems to be developing OK and they have Redd. Mo Williams, Villanueva, Bell, Yi....I know Mason's been out and Simmons doesn't do anything

Still, seems like they should be at least a little better than they are

They can't score. When you are averaging under 95 points a game and giving up over 100, you're not very good. The obvious one thing they are missing badly is someone who can keep defenses honest with the 3. As a team they are hitting under 34%. Villanueva is an enigma to me. At his size, even though he is playing shorter minutes, he should be getting more than 5 boards a night. He also seems to be playing out of position a little bit, being more of a 3/4 swing than 4/5.

Redd is hurt now and probably wont be 100% the rest of the season with a bum knee.

In the end, they are just bad.

Good thoughts - I thought, at least coming into the season, that this team would be able to score, but the more I see of them (and losing Redd or having him less than 100% is huge), they are a bigger version of the Bulls. Their big guys (Yi and Villaneuva) are jump shooters, Redd is normally a very good outside shooter, and they have a point guard, Mo Williams, who I like, but I don't know that he's a pure point guard.

I agree 100% on Mo. Good solid guy that is more a swing 1/2 than pure 1. The team will improve as Yi improves. Bogut is having a nice season. Could he break out next year? Maybe.

I think Bogut is a nice player, but that's it. He's definitely improved, and he'll get better, but I don't see him as top scoring option, more of a complemntary player.

Agreed on Yi - they need him to become a 2nd scoring option to a healthy Redd.
