I'm guessing a result of a Bulls bump and Sox being hot garbage. Interesting though.

Mully and Hanley not even in the top 10 for morning shows.

i think both stations try to see whose management could care less about the on-air product.

wscr wins this round!

Do B &B share in this success?

Well Mac is top 10. Score nowhere to be found. I know they will say look at the demo breakout.

In the latest Chicago radio ratings, the winner and still champion is WVAZ FM 102.7. The iHeartMedia urban adult-contemporary station also finished first in middays, afternoons and evenings.

Nielsen Audio ratings released Monday for the period from April 23 to May 20 showed V103 leading the market among overall listeners and among those between 25 and 54 — the prime demographic favored by advertisers.

Only Eric Ferguson and Kathy Hart of Hubbard Radio hot adult contemporary WTMX FM 101.9 broke V103’s stranglehold on the adult demo, remaining a strong No. 1 in mornings among 25-54 listeners.

CBS Radio all-news WBBM AM 780, the market’s overall runner-up, again finished first among all listeners in mornings, with anchors Felicia Middlebrooks and Pat Cassidy. With Cubs baseball broadcasts now airing on Newsradio 780, Nielsen Audio has begun reporting separate figures for WCFS FM 105.9, which previously simulcast the AM station full time. The listing below combines the two stations in mornings, when the simulcasting continues.

Since the survey period ended, iHeartMedia personnel changes dislodged Paul “Cubby” Bryant from mornings on adult contemporary WLIT FM 93.9, Ryan “Jordan” Gorman from afternoons on Top 40 WKSC FM 103.5, and U.B. Rodriguez from afternoons on urban contemporary WGCI FM 107.5. The numbers here reflect their performance.

Among Chicago’s news/talk stations, Tribune Media WGN AM 720 tied for eighth with a 3.3 share; Chicago Public Media WBEZ FM 91.5 tied for 18th with a 2.4 share; Cumulus Media WLS AM 890 was 29th with 1.1 share; and Newsweb Radio WCPT AM 820 and Salem Media WIND AM 560 tied for 35th with 0.7 shares. Midway Broadcasting WVON AM 1690 did not register among the top 60 stations in the market.

Here are Chicago’s top 10 morning shows among listeners age 6 and older from 6 to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, as measured by Nielsen Audio in May, followed by average share (with previous month’s share in parentheses):

1. WBBM AM 780/WCFS FM 105.9 (simulcast) Felicia Middlebrooks and Pat Cassidy 10.9 (11.3)

2. WVAZ FM 102.7 Steve Harvey 6.6 (5.7)

3. WTMX FM 101.9 Eric Ferguson and Kathy Hart 6.5 (7.0)

4. WGN AM 720 Steve Cochran 4.8 (5.3)

5. WOJO FM 105.1 Raul Molinar, Sylvia del Valle and Andres Maldonado 4.1 (4.1)

6. WKSC FM 103.5 Christopher “Fred” Frederick and Angi Taylor 3.7 (3.4)

7. WBEZ FM 91.5 NPR Morning Edition; Morning Shift with Tony Sarabia 3.4 (3.7)

8. (tie) WDRV FM 97.1 Pete McMurray and Dan McNeil 3.2 (3.9)

8. (tie) WLIT FM 93.9 Paul “Cubby” Bryant 3.2 (3.4)

10. (tie) WBBM FM 96.3 J. Niice (Jamar McNeil) and Showbiz Shelly Menaker 3.0 (3.0)

10. (tie) WLS FM 94.7 Jack Diamond and Brant Miller 3.0 (1.9)

Here are Chicago’s top 10 afternoon shows among listeners age 6 and older from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, as measured by Nielsen Audio in May, followed by average share (with previous month’s share in parentheses):

1. WVAZ FM 102.7 Doug Banks 6.0 (6.3)

2. WTMX FM 101.9 Koz (Kevin Koske) 4.5 (5.2)

3. WKSC FM 103.5 Jordan (Ryan Gorman) 4.4 (4.6)

4. WBBM AM 780 Kris Kridel and Keith Johnson; Cubs baseball 4.1 (4.1)

5. WBBM FM 96.3 Dougie Stylz and Justin Roman 4.0 (4.3)

6. (tie) WGCI FM 107.5 U.B. Rodriguez 3.6 (3.7)

6. (tie) WLIT FM 93.9 Mick Lee 3.6 (4.2)

8. WUSN FM 99.5 Shila Nathan 3.5 (3.1)

Feder gives you mornings and afternoons, but not middays. Goff has been back for like 5 months now. Still no report on how that show rates. Still no report on if they beat Carm and Jurko. I'm just curious as to how it's doing.

Can somebody tweet Feder and ask him?

They're down 7/10 a rating point from previous book. Look for a new thread by Mac to explain it.

Every time I land on V103, I like what I hear. One time I heard a really cool song but it didn't come up in the playlist, so I texted the station to ask what it was. It was "Children of the Night" by the Stylistics. I'm surprised a Clear Channel/iHeart station is allowed to have more than 30 songs in its playlist. I guess they figured they were better off leaving it alone.

I tried to place a bet with a very standoffish bookie named May Book.

Does this mean that at any one time MVP has 21 listeners and the Score 20? I have never understood how this translates to raw listeners, which would seem to be all that matters.

Maybe that's a rare radio condition he was describing.
