i'd be a jaded sarcastic asshole too if i had to take white sox post game calls 162 times a year. That being said Rongey's thoughts can usually be condensed in to 1-2 sentences but he ends up needing 1-2 paragraphs to verbalize anything

Rogney's DH articles are terrible.

The DH today had the Sox saying they have not agreed with 890 on a radio broadcast deal. I want to see Rogney squeal (Hawg style) for his job. If he does that, I'll put up with him. He should be interesting after this terrible Sox game. I love to hear him struggle with idiot callers.

Rongey is probably an OK guy in real life. Sox Radio Rongey is bad. Long winded though says nothing. Always in defense of the Sox mode. I catch drips of him every now and then and have to turn it off. There's pretty much no point to hearing Sox post game. Even when they're good. But never when they're bad.

I think his "kiss ass" style of everything Sox might get him over to WLS 890. I think Sox people like him as he's made it a priority that Sox people like him. It would be Brooks Boyer that would push for him I would imagine. Might even be a private conversation from Rongey to Brooks saying "Hey Brooks, can you push for me?"

Otherwise he'll be full time update boy at the Score. Less prestige. Rongey might search the country while updating at the Score to get some other MLB gig. He wants to be play by play, but he's never done it. Kids doing minor league play by play have a better shot than him. So at his age that's probably not gonna happen. But he could grab another pre and post gig if he wants to move.

Now there's rumors that Rongey has the FBI after him.
