Don't know how the contracts look, but what if the Blackhawks can't trade Bickell and Sharp? Can they send them to play with Huet to get their contracts off the books?

They would only get $950,000 in cap relief per player. It's not an option.

Since Raanta has been dealt, I am assuming that means Crawford will not be traded next year and Darling will be backup?

You're probably right, though they could still hypothetically put Darling with a veteran backup. Sadly, it looks like we'll still have $6MM committed to a goalie.

Run-BAD back for 2 over 2. Whaaaatever. Really wanted him non-tendered. Let a different GM (fifth? sixth?) swoon over a project Swede this time.

Someone must think he has a little upside, but with what's in the pipeline, this puzzles me.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him moved. The contract reminds of the Jeremy Morin/Ben Smith deals.

Due to his limited movement clause in his contract agreed to by you-know-who that the Hawk inherited when they got Versteeg from Florida.

Isn't Montreal the crown jewel of the NHL? Why would a player veto a trade to them?

Canadians are big babies about playing under "media pressure" and Quebec has high taxes. Montreal and Toronto, the two biggest moneymakers in the league, can't do shit in free agency because no one wants to deal with all the shit that attends playing for a crown-jewel franchise. They'd rather just chill out in Anaheim or Dallas. Imagine if no one wanted to play for the Yankees or Red Sox because it was "too stressful." Hockey is real bullshit sometimes.

At any rate, turned out to be a false alarm on the Versteeg no-trade clause, turns out Tallon didn't give him one after all. I'm surprised.

He was great in the cup final, but he had a lot of rough games this year. Buh bye.

Have to make tough choices and looks like they choose Seabrook and kids.

I was not much of an Oduya fan, so it doesn't bother me that much, but it seemed the chatter was that they wanted to keep him. Guess he wants whatever money he can at at this point; can't say I blame him if he thinks someone else will give him more.

For whatever reason I never thought Oduya was as old as he is.

Won 2 Cups, might as well do a cash grab while he can.

Colorado or Dallas will overpay him. Maybe Anaheim; they have a young blue line and money to burn. So long and thanks for all the fish.

I like our young guys, but I'd feel better if we grabbed some veteran defenseman not named Barret Jackman.

Keep in mind I know nothing about hockey, but wouldn't the Hawks rather have Saad than Sharp?

Absolutely, but apparently Sharp has made himself so toxic that no one would take him.

Artem Anisimov is good, but not special. Saad is special. This is a horse abortion.

'Hawks just confirmed it.

Blackhawks acquire Anisimov, Dano, Morin and Tropp and a 4th-rounder from CBJ for Brandon Saad, Paliotta, Broadhurst: http://onego.al/P0KCd
