335 - 370 career record. Teams he has coached have made the playoffs 2 times.

Seems like a guy who makes a real good assistant, but just not a good head coach.

If I recall he has coached a dog as Heat team and a Dog as Clippers team. With Phoenix he did a really good job. I may be wrong on the other two teams but with Phoenix he has done a good job and with Golden State he is doing a good job

Sam Smith wrote about Thibs not liking in season trades because he puts his system in during training camp and he doesn't like teaching his system again once it has been put in place. It was sort of a throwaway line at the time but he did say that it was one of main reasons that the Bulls haven't made in season moves during the Thibodaux era.

If that's the case that is another reason for him to be fired. He shouldn't be meddling in affairs of front office. It was this type of move which saved Cleveland's season. For all of the can't beat LeBron stuff that you hear, their season was over if they hadn't acquired Mozgov Shumpert and Smith. That move saved their season. If Thibs doesn't want management to make such moves because it upsets his routine then he should be fired.

Thibs did a poor job of coaching this team. It didn't start during the playoffs either. It began earlier in the season and carried over to the playoffs.

Who really cares if Gasol and Butler are all-stars? Do you think either is close to LeBron's level? John Starks was an All-Star at one time, too, but I sure wouldn't compare him to Michael Jordan. And you can keep clinging to the idea that Rose is an All-Star if you like--but you sound ridiculous. He simply can't explode to the hoop like he once did and often looks pathetic when he tries to do so.

That does not make him a bum because he is not LeBron James. 99% of the league does not have his talent either. The level of cynicism has reached the point where having two all stars on your rosters is now scoffed at.

Rose didn't play like an All Star this yr but he is capable of having big games and he obviously must be good if the great Thibs is comfortable calling Clear outs for him with the game on the line. I guess it's sort of ridiculous of Thibs to do that.

By shedding Thibs' oppressive defense sensibilities and entering the New NBA where they'll do nothing but jack threes. We, uh, have guys who can do that, right?

Maybe they can get Doc Rivers to coach. Im sure he's on his way out after blowing a 3-1 series lead. Look at the All Stars on his roster!!

Nah Doc said he inherited a bad team that consisted of Eric Bledsoe, Chris Paul, Blake Griffin (who's overrated BUT STILL) and DeAndre Jordan. Just walked into a bad situation according to Doc.

Actually they do. McDermott Snell Dunleavy Brooks are three point shooters. Thibs would rather have the lights out shooting Kirk Hinrich get those minutes though.

From the not-entirely-flimsy rumor mill: http://amestrib.com/sports/isu-athletics-pollard-leaves-tailgate-tour-seen-returning-out-town-trip-des-moines-airport

Amid swirling speculation regarding the future of his men’s basketball coach, Iowa State athletic director Jamie Pollard returned from “out of town” to the Des Moines International Airport on Tuesday evening after missing appearances at the school’s annual tailgate tour event earlier in the day.

Pollard had no comment to the Ames Tribune when approached at the airport other than to say he was returning from out of town. He declined to specify where he was or the reason for the trip upon his arrival at approximately 10:30 p.m.

When asked by the Ames Tribune about Pollard’s absence from the tailgate tour on Tuesday afternoon, the ISU athletic communications department did not provide a definitive reason for his non-appearance.

The trip comes amid rumors swirling at a fever-pitch around coach Fred Hoiberg’s future. The five-year ISU coach and former star player for the Cyclones is the subject of intense speculation that he could be poised to leave for a job in the NBA, most specifically the Chicago Bulls, where Hoiberg played for four seasons and has close ties with the front office. The Bulls currently have coach Tom Thibodeau under contract but it has been widely reported that the two will part ways and that Hoiberg is management’s top choice to replace him in such an event.

Pollard underwent triple-bypass surgery earlier this spring after suffering a heart attack. He returned to work late last month. During a tailgate tour stop in Ottumwa last week, Pollard said that it was Hoiberg’s “lifelong goal” to coach in the NBA.

“Now it’s just strictly a decision for him and their family personally,” Pollard said then, “not what he wants to do because he’s made that clear. That’s what he wants to do.

“It’s a matter of when he wants to do it.”

Tuesday’s tailgate tour made scheduled stops in Sioux City and Omaha, Neb. It is set to resume today with a stop first in Humboldt in the afternoon followed by Clear Lake in the evening. An ISU athletics department official said early Tuesday afternoon that Pollard was expected to re-join the annual event that treks across the state to meet with ISU fans.

One of the biggest free agents this summer will be Portland Trailblazers guard Wesley Matthews. He was leading the league in three-pointers made at one point this season and was having a tremendous season overall until he tore his achilles tendon in March.
He has surprisingly been linked to the Chicago Bulls recently by former NBA player and Grantland analyst Jalen Rose.

Per Sheridan Hoops, they are looking to move Noah and/or Gibson:

It sounds as though there will be a flurry of deals before and during draft night as teams look to shed salary for free agency this summer. The Bulls are being active in exploring deals focusing on Taj Gibson and/or Joakim Noah, and the Celtics, who are loaded with assets, will look to upgrade their talent.

Anyone that would trade for Noah is in line to be immediately fired.

They didn't want him to go to Cleveland. This was a dumb signing. Apparently Thibs wasn't the only one who doesn't think McBuckets id ready.

Butler 5/90 with the Bulls.

How would he have been gone? Bulls would have matched whatever offer he was given. Just a matter of how long of a contract he would have with the Bulls.

That's a "thank you for your service" deal Kirk signed last year. Giving him a player option was silly. Thibs wanted Augustine too.

He couldn't move on. If he signed a deal with another team, the Bulls would just match.

So the Bulls have the same team for next year aside from the coach and draft pick?
