I see the Sox drafted Jerry's grandson in the last round.

Maybe he can play third base.

Arizona didn't take any high schoolers in the top 10 rounds either. I figured the Sox would go conservative when Teflon Hahn punted the draft by signing Robertson and Melky. It's a one player draft with some bullpen arm lottery tickets.

In his pro debut Brenden Rodgers went 4-6 with a double, home run, 3 runs scored and 2 RBI. Best player in the draft.

The White Sox signed their 1st round pick RHP Carson Fulmer to a $3.4706M signing bonus. The bonus is exactly slot value.

The Cardinals signed their 12th round pick LHP Jacob Schlesener to a $325k signing bonus.

Arkansas recruit. That's a tough loss, Hawger. Up to 92 with a hammer for a curveball. But hey the Hogs have JC transfer RHP Hunter Hart coming. Barf

He's a loser, what incompetent idiot would pick the Cardinals organization over being a Razorback.

He is a local kid right down the road from me.

I am sure it is quite exciting to be able to sign with your favorite team.

Would you just follow my narrative, we don't need any feel good stories around this place.

My bad.

I agree, any kid that would consider Arkansas and sign with the Cardinals is clearly a loser.

The deadline to sign is tomorrow at 5:00pm ET and there are still 8 unsigned players in the first 2 rounds. The common thinking is Swanson, Buehler and Kirby will sign and Funkhouser, Betts, Singer, Hughes and Cody will not. Funk and Cody would go back to Louisville and Kentucky respectively while Betts would attend Tennessee, Singer to Florida and Hughes to Georgia Tech.

1-1 Dansby Swanson AZ

1-24 Walker Buehler LAD

1-35 Kyle Funkhouser LAD

1-40 Nathan Kirby MIL

2-52 Chris Betts TB

2-58 Brady Singer Tor

2-68 Jonathan Hughes Balt

2-73 Kyle Cody Minn

Tampa Bay agreed to terms with 2nd rounder Chris Betts. His signing bonus is for $1.485M which is about $325k above slot.

Kyle Funkhouser and Jonathan Hughes sent tweets saying they will not be signing.

I think they will but they better do it quick. The deadline is less that 3 hours away.

Lieutenant Dansby got done. Singer and Cody did not. So Betts signing was the only surprise.

I hope the D'Bags assign Dans to Kane County. It would be fun to see him there and they could certainly use the talent. Yeesh
