Sad day, but like Hannah Stubbs' shoes, it's a miracle it lasted as long as it did.

They've been doing less than 1% of the trading. The options could last a while.

Next should be NYSE's pit. I'm tired of that damned closing bell, either way.

Of course, the pit *is* an emergency backup in case the primary and secondary electronic trading servers go down. Whether there's anyone still down there who can do an order is another question altogether.

To me the biggest thing is the size of the pit; what do you DO with rooms that large?

There's really only two pits generating any business right now @ CBOE. The rest of the trading floor is deserted and they've been doing construction, so maybe they're going to re-purpose the remaining real estate...
