Watching that video both sides come off as morons. Nas,what basically started the confrontation was she blew smoke in his face,he asked her to put the cig out, she refused then the small town cop mentality kicked in.

I am surprised though she did not act better when confronted with a cop as her kinda lengthily arrest record shows. In fact technically she should not have been legally have been driving. People are citing her self-diagnosing of depression but based on that and her behavior in that video, if they find nothing else in the tox screening(that takes a couple of weeks) I would say she might be Bi-Polar. The way people described her ass she was going down to Texas with the new job and the vid point to a manic phase. Then when she was sitting in that cell, her family and friends not willing to put up the $500 to get her out might have triggered a depression slam and caused the suicide.
I really can't see how she owed the State of Illinois so much in fines and there was no bench warrant out for her. Especially for what they where.

She didn't appear to be worried about anything. Someone who is worried signals to get over no matter what. Someone who is worried doesn't say a word to the cop even if they know that he is wrong. BTW there is no way in hell Illinois would come get her for traffic tickets.

She may not have known that. I am suggesting that she might have been bi-polar.If she went into a deep depression it is possible. If the Illinois/Cook county court did its job correctly her license should have been revoked. She should not have been driving. It is also coming out that she tried to get a bail bondsman to get her out, he refused.

That ain't no joke man , I probably know 200 cops . 85% are active CPD or retired CPD ..... Less than 5 have been hurt on the job , One was shot ...the other 4 were injured in wrecks .. Which THEY or their partna was driving .


I'm not joking , I know 13 cops who have killed ATLEAST one person , 2 of them are attorneys now .. One is THE reason they take your piece and put ya on desk duty for a couple weeks ...he shot n killed 4 people in a weekend .. All black I believe n men .

Don't get me wrong. I said the cop was out of bounds. She was as well. The first news story I say had an interview with a lady who was watching the episode. She said she would not have known anything was going on if it wasn't for Bland yelling and cussing. The officer was calm and quiet and she was loud and abusive. Her words,saw it on ABC.
Time had a good article online today on what your rights are when you are pulled over. There is also a guy I say on ABC 7, a community activist,who I think is doing something useful. He is educating young black men how to act and react when in a situation with police.Maybe if she thought more about being calm and taking the ticket instead of being an"activist" She would be alive today.

I was shocked at the way both of these people spoke to each other. I can't picture myself being either person and talking to the other the way that they did.

Sadly, the video is probably getting too much attention (in a strange way). This lady died after 3 days in jail, one way or another. This cop had nothing to do with her dying either way. Why aren't all jail cells/corridors/etc constantly under video surveillance?

Obviously something else happened in that jail cell.
Something that caused her death.

This cop was wrong and aggressive and disrespectful. That didn't cause her death.

Why in the world is somebody that changed lanes improperly and then mouthed off to a cop in jail for 3 days without a conviction?
That seems stupid. Whether it was $500 or $5000 that she needed, those offenses seem worthy of......spend the night/here's your court date/we will keep your license/go home now.

She was arrested for assault IIRC. When he slammed her head into the ground (while she was handcuffed) he got a scrape on his knuckles. Small towns (I believe that was a small town) get a large chunk of their revenue from things like that.
