Yeah, they are going to trade a very young pitcher that they have under their control for the next several years.

That's a great move for them. He struggled to start the season but he'll be great in St. Louis.

Looks like Cueto to the Royals is still going to happen.

Tulowitzki will receive a $2M assignment bonus for being traded and his contract converts to include full no-trade clause from here on out.

When is the last time a big-name position player was traded for a big-name position player from the same position?? (I know their arrows are pointing in different directions, but, still).

Depending on who the minor leaguers are, Rockies win this trade, right? Toronto seems to need pitching.....not bats.

NO WAY

They needed pitching, got a bat instead, and still made their pitching worse!

Can anyone on the receiving end of getting LaTroy Hawkins really be considered a winner?

Very risky trading for a guy with his injury history. One of his legs will probably fall off in two weeks.

That isn't exactly stepping out. Bad teams that are going nowhere, tend to unload highly paid veterans. Except for one team anyway.

Aren't their arrows pointing in the same direction? They are both on the wrong side of 30. Tulo is a better player overall, but he is a season ending injury waiting to happen.

It's not anything against Tulo (although you have to be concerned about an injury proned guy playing all his home games on turf). It's just an unnecessary trade. The Blue Jays offense is great but their pitching is dog shit. This trade doesn't put them in contention for a playoff spot. Maybe they have something else up their sleeve.
