I did a search for him but couldn't find a thread. He's the PA announcer for the Gary Railcats though he thinks he's doing play by play and my god is he bad. He talks more than any PA guy I've ever heard and the volume is WAY too loud which makes his voice even more annoying. I was going to put this in the d'bag section but decided that was a little too harsh because it is only the Gary Railcats but man my head was ringing when I left the park.

Does your radio have a volume knob?

Ha. That's how I figured out who he was. I thought I recognized the voice but I couldn't put it together then between innings they were doing one of those gimmicky races and the guy on the field said "back to you Tommy" and he responded with "thanks padner." Ding

I don't think the public address system does.

It has been a while since I heard his voice. After I found out his first name I couldn't remember his last name. For some reason I couldn't get Riles out of my head.

I was once in line with Tom Marker. I knew him right away.

Yea. Tommy would be an upgrade from Les.

At first I thought this thread was about the Bulls PA Announcer, Tommy Edwards.

Tommy replaced Les last time after Credential-Gate. That was some of the worst radio ever. Tommy would recycle the same topics over and over again and just insert a different sport. I forgot how often i would hear, "So who is on your Mt. Rushmore of baseball?" That Mt Rushmore bit would include Chicago only baseball players, Cubs players, Sox players, MLB, etc.

Tommy is definitely a nice guy. Wish him success. Just keep him off any major market radio waves.

I still speak to TDub every now and then. I e-mailed him rubbing it in when the Cubs beat the Pirates in the Wildcard game. I recently posted some old clips of TDub overnight on my YouTube page if anyone wants to hear some old school Score radio. Here is the link.

I think Tommy is covering some local sports (high school) in the Gary area as well

He's the public address announcer for the South Shore Railcats, too, right?

More like a public play by play announcer. He doesn't shut up. Ever.

I found him to be a decent listen for overnights. Not a great talent but it is a no talent shift.
