I would hope any sane person wants Kane in jail, if the rumors are a reality...and some of those rumors are sounding truer everyday.

Kane may be a bad guy and a rapist. He seems to have some bad facts in this case. But in a lot of cases it's not some dude plotting to incapacitate a woman and rape her. It's a couple people getting loaded together and then having sex. I can't think of anything more patriarchal than the concept that the man is capable of consent in such a situation while the woman is not.

I agree with you in a sense, and there is something infantilizing about the whole thing, but I'm willing to believe that the capability for consent differs between a man and a woman, and besides, if this is the standard women have decided they want, we sort of have to respect that no matter how self-infantilizing it may be, don't we? Maybe it wouldn't have had to come to this if there hadn't been so much rape before.
