This is the least excited I've been for a Bears season in quite awhile. With the Cubs having a good year and trying to make the playoffs and this whole Kane situation going on, I have a really hard time finding any excitement for a Bears team that looks to be beyond awful on paper.

Let me know when the regular season starts.

I too have very low expectations, but still very curious with the new staff, players and schemes.

Even though many of the guys battling for starting jobs will be long gone after a quarter or so, there's still enough intrigue for me to watch. I'm sure I'll change my mind though as I'm actually sitting there watching a horrible pre-season game though.

Can't wait to hear Shea calling out the defensive signals.

I dont doubt he can call out a play, but can he tackle anyone running right at him?

Went to the public scrimmage on Saturday. Couldn't get much of a sense of what was going on defensively but Langford looked like a legit NFL RB for what it's worth. Extremely run-heavy script.

The NT is also getting good reviews as well in camp, for what's it's worth.

Langford was the fastest RB in the draft. He was extremely productive at MSU. I think he will be the #2 RB this year and produce enough that Forte does not get offered a contract in the off season

The broadcast is off to a great start. Sam Rosen looks like a Mike Meyers character and Jim Miller just referred to Eddie Royal as a cornerback.

Well, by 10pm on August 4, 2001, it was clear that Anthony Thomas would never be more than a serviceable NFL RB. Took the guy a full minute and like 10 chop steps to hit the hole. Of course who could have predicted the degree to which our world would be turned upside down by the events of 5 1/2 weeks later and thereafter, when the beloved Bear would gain 36 yards of offense in the 2nd half of a loss to the defending champion Raven before going on to one of the highest-scoring and exciting seasons in history.
