It's not even that. He took Dan's tired "bad White Sox baseball killed my dog" line and changed a few words. Fortunately for Scott in Davenport, he didn't build on Dan's feelings on dogs by saying that John Farrell is stupid and was just going to die anyway so you were stupid to have John Farrell.

I'm sure posted it in thoughts of impressing his idol though.

I don't follow him on Twitter, but from his page it appears that he tweets quite a bit on a daily basis. He hasn't tweeted since yesterday, and look at his mentions.

So this is what I'm missing on Twitter?

Cub fans getting their dream gigs and then losing them shortly thereafter for being the fucking dopes that they are?

I get enough of that here.

Scott in Davenport may be a White Sox fan, but he also may just be regurgitating Score memes from 2012 because word travels slow in Iowa. I'm not sure.

I don't think there's been an internet communication medium that has enfeebled our collective intellect like Twitter.

Perhaps, next time they should hire a jealous Sock fan and see how that goes. Just use the CSFMB as the minors. There's plenty of top shelf prospects here.

You got me. I'm not the one spending most of my time talking about the other team. Tell me, Mr. Crest, is it easy being green?

I'm not jealous of the Cubs.

I just think they should win something before you all start bumping your gums.

I can't bump my gums, cause I have all my teeth. You're right, they haven't won anything. Nothing gets past you. How is it wrong to be excited about a team that has four rookies that appear to be able to contribute to future success? Could all of them flame out? Sure they could. But I can tell you from many years of observation, I like what I'm seeing now much more than Burnitz, Alou, Mathews, Moreland, Kingman, Murcer...shall I continue?

No, we should pity Sock fans. They need it.

It's us racist, misogynistic, rape loving hockey fans that are the worst. Let's stick with the narrative of the day.

It's not wrong, but it's not objective. It's based on something you've been told rather than anything that's actually happening. Tyler Saladino has very similar numbers to Addison Russell, but if a Sox fan was excited about him and using his "success" as an indicator of a long run of contention, you'd think he was ridiculous. Adam Eaton is a better than average centerfielder with OPS+ numbers not a whole lot different than Kris Bryant, a guy without a real position, but nobody thinks the Sox future is bright because of it.

Tyler Saladino is 26. Addison Russell is 21.

Adam Eaton can't field for shit. He often pulls stunt like Saturday where he runs into Avi or Melky. Plus he runs the bases like Ryan Theriot.

Yeah...I'm pretty sure both Russell and Bryant are universally projected to do a whole lot more than they are currently doing.

Adam Eaton is having his best season and is still not at Kris Bryant's rookie production levels. .060 difference in OPS?

Tyler Saladino may be an alright player. But age difference needs to be pointed out.

When a Cub player is underperforming it's always chalked up to age. Troy Tulowitzki is 30 and I'll take him over every Cub and Tyler Saladino.

Isn't that exactly what I said? You're relying on what somebody is telling you rather than what you're actually seeing. Corey Patterson was universally projected to do great too. There's a damn good reason why Kris Bryant spells his name with a "K".

Well, you know it's a small sample and they could easily be dead even before the end of the season. For all the hype the one guy is getting, it's not like his numbers are that much greater. That and the fact that one is an above average fielder at a premium position and the other is a left fielder/first baseman.

But here's the problem I really have. We're all supposed to be objective analysts/ SABRmetricians and we'll cite all kinds of numbers pulled from the Internet until they don't support the conclusion we want to draw and then it's reduced to "Bryant is universally considered Babe Ruth".

Whatever. I remember three years ago when Starlin Castro was "ONLY 20!!!!! He's just gonna get better!" Now you can't dump him quick enough.

It's been a bad year for Eaton. He was great last season.

He had a bad half year. That's what happens to developing players, or so I'm told

Development is only non-linear when Cub players fuck up.
