If they miss by one game Cub fans should be outraged at the early season cost-cutting by keeping Bryant in the minors. One of his big swings could have made the difference. This was predicted.

He may have cost them a game with his fielding early on too.

Maybe we should change his nickname to "Dick Fuckin' Stuart".

Lately, most of his big swings have been big misses. Not benching Castro earlier had a far greater negative impact on the team.

I believe I read a stat that said the Cubs 3rd basemans were a 1.9 WAR in the 9 games that Bryant didn't play to start the season.

Which is why he started pretty much immediately...

Yeah, Castro had too much rope ; either bring Baez up or get Utley. ..sending Schwarber down was dumb too . Ultimately , Dan Haren will cost this team a few games if he continues to be our 5th man ..He's bad ..he looks like he's throwing Batting practice .

No basically what I was saying was that it would have been almost impossible for a rookie to come up and produce like that in his first nine games. And I think the Cubs were in first place at the time he came up as well.

I apparently don't know what the fuck I'm talking about. I just looked online and saw that Herrera and Olt were only good for a -.1 WAR in the first 8 games without Kris Bryant.

My mistake

That's why he's at 3rd ..those guys suck .

He's getting moved to Center to replace Fowler after the season.

The Cubs clearly felt Bryant was a clear upgrade since they started him immediately. Whatever the statistics are don't matter.

I say North Siders should shoot for a 6 game cushion when September starts. Right now sitting at 4 but Giants have a pretty cupcake September and know how to get shit done when it counts.

That schedule doesn't scare me too much. Most of the Giants games in September are against the NL West, and the Giants have not torn up the NL West.

I'm a Card fan and a Bud Man, but I'm rooting like mad for you guys to beat out the Giants. Our win last night was a total fluke. They gave us the game. Very un-Giant like. They usually beat the Cards like we beat the Brewers. It's embarrassing!

As you've shown, Kirkwood, the Giants have quite a gauntlet these next 4 series. We could bury them, rendering September moot. I don't see a collapse by the Pirates, Cubs or Cards. I do expect a leveling off in Pittsburg. But I gotta take my hat off to 'em to maintain the winning with Josh Harrison out.

But the Dodgers better watch out. It's starting to look like winning the West is by far the easiest route to the post season for S.F.
