I saw the two of them on PBS a few months ago doing an interview show. They got Gloria Estefan on the worst looking set I've seen since my days at WILL-TV in Champaign.

I was thinking to myself, "Self, how did they get Gloria Estefan on this cable-access looking show?" And then it came out that Marianne and Gloria went to high school together.

The press release Larz got says Cochran till 10, then Bill and Wendy 10 to noon/1 to 3. I'd say "please no Kathy and Judy," but what do I care, I'm not listening to WGN during the day anyway.

Contract up and not renewed. Management cites lack of money in budget. Sirott didn't kiss The Cochranfather's ring enough.

Cochran and de Castro are thick as thieves. Cochran could often be heard on the air criticizing the amount of vacation time Sirott & Murciano had. He would pass it off as one of his jokes but kept pounding on them for the better part of a year. Not surprised they are gone.

Yes. Some mornings he doesn't come on until 6. His show starts at 5. There was a time when he would actually call in to his own show while he was driving in around 5:30.

The entire WGN lineup is awful. Great idea to get rid of Garry when he was 'GN's highest rated show and I believe was the #1 afternoon show.

The ascension of Steve Cochran perplexes me. He seemed like a nice enough, dad-jokey kind of guy, perfect for the 1-to-4-when-the-Cubs-don't-play time slot. They offered him morning drive when Spike retired and he didn't take it, then the Randy Michaels regime fired him to bring in a doofus from Cincitucky, which failed, of course. Toiled at 560 for a couple years, allegedly (who listens to 560?!?!?!?!?!?!), and then came back as the king of WGN. Weird.

Yeah, lots of changes made that don't make sense. Only explanation is the cronyism that seems to be the obvious reason.

I just checked Larz site and as I guessed, the multiple I hate WGN/Cochran threads are in full steam.
