Sounds like Brady was not asked for his phone, but for text messages on his phone?

regardless it was a request by the NFL...who I know thinks they are the LAW, but they arent.

I agree with Brady, that I would have never given the NFL my phone because those idiots would have searched the whole phone and let anything out...being that peoples phones todays are basically their computers.

Example No 1 has come out today in the Boston globe in the way of the first leaked Email that has NOTHING to do with Delfate gate, but will cause another issue for Brady.

http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/13383354/tom-brady-new-england-patriots-predicts-peyton-manning-end-stamp-rivalry?ex_cid=espnTW

This alone is enough reason for Brady not to hand over his phone to these idiots.

Your employer asks for something...in turn you destroy that "something".

Guilty.
I'm good with that. Whether they are the "law" or not, they are still the boss. I'd get in trouble for that. He did too.

He just happens to be one of their best salesmen.
And he's been known to wear a headband.
A LOT.

The issue is, that those are not the facts.

Was it the phone asked for? or was it the messages?

And if my employee asks for my phone, hell no, I dont turn it over, unless my employer pays for the phone and the service, otherwise, thats my phone. If my employer felt I didn something so wrong that they are damaged, they should have taken legal action to get my phone.

But, this isnt about real damages, this is about egos at this point.

Wish the judge could force them both to donate all fees to charities that are approved by a jury! and states that if they didnt have the money, neither side would have been in this situation.

I may be wrong on this...Isn't this "case" brought on by the NFL...and they filed this in New York,...doing so to try and beat Brady & PA from filing in say a more player "friendly" environment like Minneapolis?

And the NFL still lost. I don't really give a crap either way...typically with no cheering interest I pull for the underdog, so in this case.. Brady.

If you want to be literal, he "won in court" then.

He was going to sue, and he saw it through.

Agree 100%. Your employer is in charge. If he wants to ass fuck your wife, you let him. He's the boss. That's the way it should be. If you don't like it, take the risks and become the boss yourself.

Yes Walker. Which is what makes this loss far more damaging to Goodell personally.

Brought the case.

Was awarded home court advantage.

Went all in and wouldn't negotiate.

Total loss in the end.

Yes...I wasn't arguing against what you "said". Just pointing out / adding that Goodell & the NFL tried the get out ahead of this and get it on their turf...and Brady still won the case.

The punishment issued by Goodell was excessive, but Brady and the Patriots knowlingly broke written rules of the game to gain an advantage (i.e. cheated). The fact that Brady basically gets no punishment at all for that is a slippery slope.

This was a bad ruling for the judge. He should have levied some punishment on Brady, even if it was just a fine.

Ok, but I do think you seem to be giving a lot of power to the employer there. Why does the employer get access to any of my private items or information from off the clock time?

Goodell: You're suspended. I'm in charge here.
Brady <placing an open hand on Goodell's shoulder>: Do you 'feel' in charge?
Goodell <sweating>: I've paid you a small fortune.
Brady: And this gives you ... power over me?

It was the right ruling even if you believe Brady was "generally aware". I don't think he or the Patriots did anything wrong.

If you aren't doing anything wrong, what do you have to hide? You should aspire to be an employer. Then you would have the power to demand employees' phones.

The NFLPA gave Goodell that power.

And I wouldn't bet that this is over yet.

While there is just no way that Brady didnt know about his balls being deflated, I am glad that he won. Dumbass Goodell could have just fined Brady and the entire issue would have gone away. Instead Roger makes a big fucking deal about it and it dominates the sports news for months. This guy has made bad decision after bad decision.

I'm guessing the NFL appeals. They probably should win, but they lose every time. These judges don't seem to like the CBA language.

If Goodell is smart he wont appeal. Just leave it be and let it be over. How many times does he want to look like a fool?
