Ultimately, I think she is just doing this for attention. There's lots of money in being a bigot right now. She will eventually get out of jail and either resign her position or be removed from it, and the GoFundMe pages will be up and generating cash immediately. She will be paraded around to all the Conservative conventions as a hero and will become a talking head for bigots everywhere. The funny thing is, she can't exactly claim the moral high-ground on anything due to her own personal transgressions.

I keep seeing people say this or some version of this ... however, what I really don't see is any evidence to actually suggest that she's remotely clever enough to concoct this sort of scheme. I mean, there's certainly no shortage of chucklefucks who will welcome her and her ilk into their own echo chamber, but to suggest that at any point a lit lightbulb appeared over her head, she heard bells going "cha-ching", and had cartoon dollar signs for eyes is a stretch a Chinese gymnast couldn't pull off.
