As far as great FM signals go, WFMT really booms. I've pulled it in loud and clear even well north of LG. The strongest, though, is WHAD out of Delafield, which makes it all the way down to at least Palatine Road because they broadcast in mono, doubling the signal strength. Perhaps FM mono is an eventual outcome for a station like the Score, provided the FCC lets them do it.

B96 is pretty good...could drive on the 90 make it almost to Belvedere before it finally craps out. WGCI is good to about Huntley.

Many Canadian AM stations have gone dark in recent years. This surprises me, especially out on the Prairies, where a clear channel like CKY out of Winnipeg could cover an enormous tract of land at night, useful for obvious reasons. Not so, 580 has been dark for ten years. I think Eastern Canada has lost a lot of its AM stations as well.

AM Stations: 4,698 (down from 4,702 in 3/15 )
(for the hos at home, that's a decrease of four stations)

Not exactly what one would consider to be a precipitous dropoff.

As of December 30, 2012:

AM Stations: 4,738 (down from 4,745 in 9/12 and 4,754 in 6/12)

AM radio not going away soon by any measure other than perhaps compared to the length of the Mesozoic Era.

Today is the debut of Kap and Co.

First 'co.' is Jeff Dickerson. First guests are Jed Hoyer and Eddie Olchyk.

I can't see myself listening (Kap has some of the worst opinions in the city) but if you yearn for a local and 'professional' alternative to Jiggles and Giggles I sorta understand.

Unfortunately, I feel I'll listen today for Hoyer and Edzo. But Kaplan is a prick, and I won't be listening often.

Where did Kaplan come from? I remember hearing once that he used to write about high school football or something? How did he break onto the scene? Seems like a guy who just showed up at a gig somewhere and people were like "oh, I guess he's fine."
