Had the Fat Challot Truck the other day. Best one I've had in the city by far.

Tried the Jerk truck at Wacker and Adams today...the chicken was tasty, but it was $11 including fries. Better off getting the jerk chicken from Cafecito.

Thats my big issue with these food trucks. There price points are way to high for the quality of food you get. I think i got 2 empanadas from The Jibarito Stop food truck and it was like $7-$8... which is about $2 too expensive compared to brick and mortar similar cuisines. And the brick and mortar restaurant has to pay for rent, electricity, labor, and gas. The food trucks biggest expense is truck maintenance (gas, fixing) and food cost... Labor is usually the owners of the food trucks (2 or 3 individuals).

Decent food. Real good spicy pork tacos...

Why was I convinced that there is an ordinance in Chicago banning/severly restricting the food truck action? Has something changed?

What dod these trucks do when its below 50? People line up for whatever they are selling?

I am not against the food truck, they probably have some good stuff, but if they sell 50 sammies in a day, with a profit of $4 each? thats $200, 2 people? Gas? what kind of money do you make?

I loved the Buggy when I worked downtown.

He had a great business. Traders usually bought him out before 12, so it was 2 hours on the street and he would sell 200-300 Burittos...great cash for a 20 year old kid. Can tie him back to a poker game with Rod Strickland....great table of stories. Some not all good.

The Tamale Spaceship truck is pretty good, but I still balk at paying $8 for two tamales plus another $1 for Rahm.

The soul food truck with the Negro Leagues theme has a very good jerk turkey leg, that I'm willing to splurge for as it is a really filling meal.
