so fuck reggie wayne cuz he's done.... but am i the only one here who would kick the tires on hakeem nicks? yeah i know it's a lost season, but you know the bears arent getting the #1 pick no matter what (they've never had one, as les will emphatically tell you if you bring it up, and when they got real close once didnt they lose a coinflip for bradshaw?) so how about you bring in the guy to see if he can do anything alongside alshon to have royal in the slot and marquess doing whatever marquess does, and then if he's any good maybe he likes chicago and you have him in the mix next year for jay/whoever when you make the push towards .500 and beyond?

maybe after week 1 so that his contract is not guaranteed

I have no idea where they currently stand at WR health. They may need him just to have an NFL caliber body

So, they could get Hicks and have below average NFL level talent.....and end up in the last place in the divsion while Nicks takes all the snaps, or they could grab someone off a practice squad, pay half the price and maybe find a player? Even if that player contributes on Special teams...and is able to play WR.....is that an acceptable plan?

Nicks has some of the best hands I've seen. He made a catch in college that is probably top 20 of all time.

Agree, he has great hands. Something else isnt working right though for all these teams to say goodbye.

can't make a pro bowl from the trainer's table

When Hakeem is healthy, he is fantastic. I don't know if he will ever be healthy again

I like having you as a bastion of positivity for the Bears. Can always count on you to talk yourself into them contending (without going way over the top like some posters who shall remain Nameless)

I loved Nicks coming out of college, but the guy is made lf glass so he would fit right in with the Bears WR's. I wouldnt mind them taking a flyer on him, but I would rather see them sign Wes Welker.

I think pre season analysis of this Bears team is ill informed. This is a different defense. We have no idea who can play in it or not. I like this offense when healthy. They have plenty of weapons. However, there are many teams in the NFL who will get sidelined by injuries. It's not even a matter of bad luck. You have to plan for injury in the NFL.

They will proved themselves in short order. I'm not going to quicken the pace.

I just saw the Louis Nix was cut by the Texans and signed by the Giants. I'm surprised the Bears didn't take a look at him. I thought he was great at ND and a good fit for what the Bears need right now. I know there were medical issues.
