I'll stick with the under. Bears kept it close today but I never thought they were going to win.

Bears need a short yardage back so you don't have to pass 6 straight times inside the 10.

Take it easy Hatchetman. Cutler played really ok.

It was a coverage interception. Matthews came from the other side unexpectedly. Not really Cutler's fault.

True, heartbreaking loss. But there is something to look forward to here. Rematch will be a good one.

You seem to have trouble evaluating QB's. Cutler had a rough day today..50% completion rate and a 67.5 QB rating, 1TD, 1 Int, not to mention the numerous overthrows on deep balls. Jay sucked today.

Great first half gameplan. Fox got stupid in the 2nd half.

Did that game change your mind? An almost meaningless TD at the end allows the Bears to lose by only 8 and things are looking up?

Defense still bad. Cutler still Cutler. Packers horrible run defense and a couple of bonehead penalties keeps it sort of close. That's progress?

Got pass happy. GB doesn't play well against the run... should have been able to run it down their throats.

No not at all Zip. I'm feeling good at my under 7 buy.

Under.

Not trying to be negative, and the Bears looked much better for sure, but they really had a ton of factors in their favor today...

- completely new coaching staff which had been preparing for this game specifically for a long time.

- the new coaching staff and this team have zero regular season fil available to gameplan against.

- the Packers clearly don't respect the Bears

- Packers made some uncharacteristically bad penalties in the first half that kept it close

... and despite all that, they still lost by one touchdown, at home, including a gimme at the end.

I also think we will find out in the coming weeks that Green Bay isn't that good and their defense is particularly bad. The fact that the Bears moved the ball well was a combination of execution and bad defense. Sam Shields was awful.

They will be better, but I'm still going under 7.

Sam Shields looked bad, but was asked to do way more than he usually is. It was surprising how bad Green Bay's run defense was considering how much they played for it and how little help they gave their corners. Edit: Green Bay's defense isnt that good, but I think youll be pretty disappointed if you believe Green Bay isn't going to be very good.

So much Cutler talk.

Did any Bear touch Rodgers within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage? I could have thrown 3 TDs today with that much time.

McPhee had one good rush early on where it would've been a guaranteed sack if he wasn't held. But I don't remember any others.

I meant they won't be as good as they are built up in the heads of Bears fans. The presumption of some Bears fans today (not on here) is that the Packers are a juggernaut and the fact that the Bears even hung with them is impressive, and I disagree.

As long as Rodgers is their QB, they'll always be "good." But their defense isn't that good, and a lack of Jordy Nelson will hurt when they are playing teams not named the Bears.

I get what you're saying, but still disagree. They are a top two NFC team barring a Rodgers injury. They aren't just a decent team.

They were one dimensional when they went 15-1 too. (Yes, I'm aware of how the season ended too)

Thank you for completing that sentence.
You can be one dimensional with Nelson healthy. But this run defense...

That's a joke.
But the closest is New England. They get guys to buy in and get in under the cap with a team valued over the cap every goddamn year.

the packers have a maddening defense but the bears definitely showed up. john fox will keep this team in games. trestman showed he just didn't have it to be an nfl head coach. didn't stop scorehead and nas from predicting them super bowl champs, but they probably thought the same about wanny and jauron's teams.

They arent as one dimensional on offense though. Lacy is a really good back and has no problem carrying it 20 times if need be. Their defense will suck but their defense always sucks and they still have done extremely well in the regular season. That should continue this year.

Let's just not say they're an elite team though. You got them as elite. I don't know about that.
Maybe with Nelson. But that hurts their offense considerably.

How many teams in the NFL can you confidently say are a better team right now? New England, probably. Nobody else.

GB fanboyism is not worth debating. You should know that's nuts.
You're telling me that its nearly a lock that GB wins the NFC?

 Relax, dude. It's week 1. No, just like I didn't say it was a lock that New England wins the Super Bowl even though currently they probably have the best case to make for best team. It just means that they are as much in the conversaion for winning the NFC as any team, and obviously more in it than most teams.

You said that NE was the only team that's probably better. That's an issue. I can't agree. Which is it...??? Are they a NFC top candidate in your opinion or not?

You can't be "elite" with a lousy defense.
