The best thing you can say for that game was that Cutler was managing the game ok until he threw yet another interception that was not his fault.

Then, when the game was pretty much out of reach, and the defense started sagging off, he padded his stats with a touchdown and some yards to make his stat line look halfway decent.

Reading comprehension is obviously not your strength, nor is logic. Your deduction of losing to New England is an indicator of a good team is completely off the mark. My point was GB was the 2nd best team in the NFC last year, and should have been the Superbowl winner. The fact that the Bears competed well against that team is indicative that they have promise this year.

Total yards are meaningless. Usually indicates a QB who is playing from behind and throwing against a soft zone defense. Yards per attempt is much more meaningful.

The Gase offense is designed for a short to intermediate passing game. And one completion for 6.25 yrds after a 4 yrd run by Forte is still a FIRST DOWN.

They tried to Cutler proof the offense, the guy sucks. Green Bay has a weak ass defense.. Zona n Seattle are going to stop the run...he's going to be forced to throw down field... Its Gona get ugly.

I thought my original message was pretty clear. I guess I need to post "Cliff Notes" too for remedial readers like Veganfan.

I do think the Bears are going to do well this season. The first game was telling against GB. And to argue that GB doesn't have a pass defense or any defense is idiotic, when you compare the defense that Rodgers went against, who threw for less yards than Cutler. GB defense at least has Matthews and Peppers.

The other point is that you don't have any other option but to stay with Cutler. It's the first year of his 4th offense now and third coaching staff. All things considered, he did ok. The 3rd down conversion percentage is the most reflective of how Cutler played (66%). For most teams that number is under 50%.

Stop quoting total yardage. It's meaningless. Rodgers can't continue gaining yards after he throws a touchdown pass. The field is only so long.

If they can compete with GB, they can compete with anyone. The floor for this team is 8-8, but it's not out of the realm of possibility they win 10 or 11, if they can get some kind of a pass rush. The Bears should take care of Minnesota and Detroit, with both losing last Sunday, setting them up for a rematch with GB at Lambeau for the division title. The Bears will only get better going forward. If Kevin White returns before season end, who knows what can happen?
