I can't really blame Kane for not confessing to something that he has not been found guilty of.

I am sure there are other stories like this but a bigger one does not immediately come to mind. I have never seen a media and some public so definitively act as if someone is guilty wwhile saying "I know he is innocent until proven guilty". And the drinking even if he has had his past there has not been one fact based item that said he was drunk. I don't necessarily believe it but I recall some person/journalist reporting he was sober for what that is worth.

Its plausible that Kane was in a bar that night drinking just like its plausible that the accuser was in a bar all night not drinking and was just looking out for her poor friend when she left with them at 3am. I'm not saying she's guilty of anything though.
