This is just stupid. Ditka wasn't even the best coach on the 85 staff.

DignifiedReardon, Ditka is only relevant in this town because middle aged meatballs like yourself hold him in any regard.

Steve Kazor you're referring to.....I concur

B&B just saying on-air Clausen named starter while both giving a big "sigh". They hate it too.

Sunday could be all-time bad. Bears are the most brain-dead organization in the history of sports.

I bet Seattle is scared now.

Ditka was 4-0 vs Buddy Ryan.

If they were listening to the Bears-Tebow chatter, yes.

For 0-2 Seattle, the impotent Bears are just what the doctor ordered. I know, Any Given Sunday...but this looks to be a bloodbath.

Everyone on the Mulli and Hanley show this morning says Clausen sucks, too, and all recognized the need to bring in a guy off the street if Cutler is out for any prolonged time. But yet they think it's ok to put him in there the next to weeks. Why even bother?

And even when Cutler returns there are still questions at the position, where you should be, at the very least, looking for a more viable backup. But they don't want to hurt poor Jay's ego by bringing in a guy like Tebow, who attracts a lot of media attention. They've treated Cutler with a pacifier ever since he got here, and where has it got you? Nowhere! Fox says yesterday that Cutler's hamstring strain isn't "very serious." Well, why the F didn't he go back on the field then?? Because he couldn't handle it after throwing another pick 6. If Cutler is so sensitive, so lacking of any internal drive, that he falls to pieces by one pick, he shouldn't be out there in the first place.

Maybe we'll get some good news today by hearing that the Bears have brought a couple guys in for tryouts. Whatever happens, one thing is clear: fans are sick and tired of Cutler and they have no faith in the backups on the roster now. A move needs to be made to find a QB, and you lack a guy in Pace that can think on his feet to do something like that. What were they doing naming a 34 yr old GM of the Bears? Asinine.

I was all over the radio pleading for the Bears not to extend Cutler, but trade him with 1 year on his old deal. I did not care if there was a better option available. If you know Cutler is not a franchise QB, you move on. Draft a QB and see if he works out. If not, draft another and another, till you get the right one. But keeping a guy because he can possibly keep the team in contention for a playoff spot most years for the better part of the season (they probably believed he would do that) is not a good reason to stay with a QB. Unless you feel he is a guy capable of beating winning teams and not making critical mistakes that will cost you ballgames, you should cut your losses and move on.

All I know is that the one guy you couldn't afford to get wrong this time is the GM. The guy there now that won't bring in Tebow, even for a workout, is the same guy that drafted seven guys this year with none of them contributing to any acceptable degree. Pace and Emery are making Angelo look like Einstein.
