Someone removed evidence from the police dept. and brought it to the home of the alleged victim's mother?

Sounding like a hail-mary by the alleged victim's lawyer - gonna try to claim tampering after the disclosure of the non-Kane DNA. I can't believe that the evidence just disappeared from secure custody, and landed at the victim's mother's house.

Can't wait for the DA to respond.

If someone wanted to tamper with evidence in a rape kit, why would they then send the empty rape kit bag to one of the alleged victims parents? That doesn't make any sense at all. This story just doesn't seem to hold water.
I would think that now the Buffalo Police Department will hold a press conference and show the actual evidence bag with the evidence.

These might be stupid questions, but that has never stopped me before:

1. Was the rape kit tested before it was put into the evidence bag? If so, then does it matter if the bag was opened after the kit was tested?

2. If the kit was not tested before it was put into the evidence bag, doesn't the bag have to be opened in order for them to test it?

3. If it were tampered with, and if Kane's DNA were present, would someone be able to remove only his and/or plant the DNA of one or more people?

He is not there to fabricate anything; he is there to represent his client.

Agree though that Kane should have stayed away until this is resolved.

So, I understand in terms of court that this bag will likely be considered inadmissible. That said, weren't the DNA results/tests already taken. They had to have been logged in multiple areas, plus the staff who performed them know the results.
