Poor girl. Some would have thought an Ivy League diploma and the network it provides would have been the assets a person who wanted to be known for her knowledge would highlight to get a foothold in an industry.

some other points to address:

1. there are plenty of "handsome" women working in the industry on every level from local to national. Peggy Kuzinski, Melissa Isaacson, Michelle Tafoya, etc.

2. men are under the same microscope. It's rare you see a young male reporter who looks like Howard Cosell.

I agree that men have to look good to get in the door in TV. The only difference is once they are established they are allowed to age in the job. Where the TV industry throws women out when they hit 40

they know what they're signing up for. no sympathy.
