I'm not sure if this has been discussed on here, but I haven't seen it discussed anywhere else.

So, I've mentioned briefly here before that I am a Chicago Police Officer

If we came across a victim that said she was raped and knows the offender we would put that information in the case report, notify detectives etc.

Warrant or investigative alert is issued for the offender based on facts STATED BY THE VICTIM.

Offender is arrested. Detectives, States Attorney, offender and victim have discussions.

Based on those discussions the person is either charged or released.

If the victim wishes to pursue charges, enough evidence and no inconsistencies exist the States Attorney will more than likely approve charges. Offender is charged, court date, bond etc.

The DNA then comes out in court and all this discussion everyone is having happens in court.

I'm really confused by this whole situation. As a Police Officer I'm confused on why DNA is the main factor in charging here. This isn't some kind of cold case.

We'll ask her, next time you let her leave the house.

I'm just wondering if there are survelence cameras around that neighborhood that might have recorded the person that dropped off the bag. Maybe even got the plate number of his car. Maybe a neighbors camera.

Im wondering how, 24 hours later we don't have an answer to this. How does the NY States Atty not march right over to wherever this evidence is, says let me see it, and pronounce that yes its here and intact or no, things are fucked up and we have a problem. Seems like a pretty easy thing to verify in a day doesn't ti?

Yet another example of biased one sided reporting. They mention the DNA results and how they found his DNA on her shoulder and fingers, but oddly they fail to mention that there was no DNA found below her waist from Kane. Also failed to mention the presence of other semen there. And earlier in the article in big red letters they say that the rape kit was tampered with, it isn't until later in the paragraph that they quietly mention that it was the rape kit bag.

I'm getting really tired of this victim shaming by the media. Its not Kane's fault he is most likely the victim of a fraudulent rape accusation, the media needs to stop forcing their anti-Kane narrative down our throats. 99% of the people who read this crap aren't capable of analyzing it properly.

The spineless DA is doing everything in his power to not be part of this case. He's been doing that since day 1. I think he was doing that earlier in the week when he leaked the DNA results.
