I think this whole crap will finally get me away from having a posting account. I love twitter for a lot of immediate reaction and info, but this kind of shit is so unflattering. DiCaro & Bernstein white knight to the extreme (rocking mics like vandals?), quote white trash for reasons unknown to me, and Julie tries to brush it off like it doesn't mean anything to her.

Meanwhile I've kind of planted my flag in the "I don't want to support a player who gets himself involved in this shit/God damn are there a lot of racist-ass piece of shit Blackhawks fans on twitter; I don't want to be one of them" side of affairs, but now I'm getting the vibe I should feel bad for doing so as the virtuous Kane won out over the treacherous accuser.

Obviously nothing has been settled, but if I personally learned anything from this it's that my god-awful opinions best belong archived safely on various message boards where I have time to carefully sculpt them into the most mediocre, soulless posts I can.

As far as the #RapeCulture thing goes, it's the same shit that happened when the reporter and cameraman were go-pro murdered out east a few weeks ago. Their deaths were horrifying but all anyone wanted to discuss was how gun culture is so pervasive, and why-oh-why have we let things become how they are. A few weeks later nobody gave a fuck. Just how it is.

Once Kane handles things with some Roethlisbergian pop and sizzle, wins a few shootouts, and does some charity work or something, a lot of people will be willing to turn the page. Likely by that point some other sports asshole will commit a scandal that pushes 88 safely into the cottony haven of Old News.
