This was gonna be a tough case for the prosecution before the accuser (and one shouldn't differentiate between the accuser and those acting on her behalf) tampered with the evidence. No way in the world the PA takes this to court.

I missed the end of the presser, but the parts I found interesting...

-DA mentioned the possibility of closing the investigation. Also, stated that the question isn't when it will go to a grand jury, but IF if will go to a grand jury.

-DA acknowledged that he felt he had a duty to reveal the DNA evidence to Paul Cambria if that evidence could prove to exxonerate his client. So now we know that the leaked DNA evidence rumors are accurate (even though we already knew that from Cambria's presser last night)

-DA needs to conduct follow up interviews. Means DA will need to interview accuser to find out how much she knew about this plot. If she knew I expect instant case closure per the tone of DA presser. Also he will be interviewing the friend who now supposedly is changing her story.


Assuming it doesn't take more than a week or two to do those follow ups we should see a closure to this case very soon.

I'm sorry, but what exactly did the DA do wrong in this case? Is he being overly careful and hesitant in the way he has handled this so far? maybe you could argue that, but erring on the side of caution is hardly a damning charge against someone.

While it may well be that Kane did not rape anyone, maybe this whole mess will cause him to curtail his drinking somewhat and he will avoid putting himself in a position of vulnerability in the future. An athletic career is short enough, to shorten it further by burning the candle at both ends and drinking as often and as much as it's reported he does, can do nothing but shorten a career and keep him from reaching even greater accomplishments.

Would Bernstein, et al, have gone in so hard against the Blackhawks (and perhaps to a lesser extent Kane) if the Blackhawks' games were broadcast on 670 instead of 720?

It takes a strong stomach to search her mentions. There are some depressing people out there. I’d say it’s surprising but it’s not. This type of harassment happens far too often.

Things took an ugly turn last night when one of the Twitter attacks came in the form of a specific threat. DiCaro tweeted this morning that she wasn’t at work today out of an abundance of caution. Her physical location hasn’t stopped her from working sources and providing new information.
